Sand Lake Party Store — Local services in Nottawa Township

Lots to find in this hole-in-the-wall type place! The ice cream store in the back serves the largest portions you'll receive anywhere! Many flavors to choose from and it's always fresh. The front store has a full service meat counter with more brat flavors than you've ever seen. Best part is, they're good! The inside of the building is dingy and needs updating but you can pick up just about any last minute item you need in this little place (for a price)! The gas pumps are a nightmare due to the parking situation. Cars line up along the front of the building which prevents you from being able to pull out from the gas pumps. People pump their gas, go in and order ice cream and leave their car parked at the pump while they sit down and eat it! Driving in this parking lot is putting your life at risk...no kidding. People are driving in every direction and backing up the same way. Cars whip into the lot nearly taking out those who are trying to get out. Safest approach is to turn in on the North end of the parking lot, but...if it has rained it will be flooded. This is a building that most people would drive right past. It’s a bit sketch looking both on the outside and in. But wow. There are some great values here.

First and foremost. The icecream shop is why we normally go. The serving size is unbelievable for the price. Get one kid size and share between 3 people!

Good local icecream (Hudsonville) at a very reasonable price. Nice outside seating in the summer. Cones, sundaes etc.

The market side feels a mix between a country store and a gas station (which it is). But they also have a butcher counter - and believe it or not. Some really exceptional meats and brats - which is unexpected.

This is an unusual store with an unusual name - known primarily to the locals. But if you are in the area, it’s absolutely worth the stop!!.

So much for a review from 4 years ago. I used to take a group of people into the Ice Cream Parlor once a week, and would stop by every Sunday on the way home. Well, this summer I've been in once, and it was once too many. Not only have the prices nearly doubled since my last review, the 3 people that they had working when we were in would have all been fired on the spot if it was my place and I was aware of it. It was so bad that everyone in line was talking about it, and when I said something in the store the response was that they were all well aware of it, and asked me to come back the next day to speak with ... (I forget the name they gave me). Well, if they really wanted to know about it there would have been someone in charge while we were there!
