Public Storage — Local services in Novato

I have recently moved here to Marin County, and have a storage in El Sobrante. I was stressing really bad about getting over there to pay my bill each month, since I now work here in the area. I decided to go through the hassle of once again packing all my things from El Sobrante, and hiring help to move it over here. That is until I met the most delightful employee who works at your Rush Landing Road facility. I went into the office basically dreading the expense, and the hassle of it all. Melissa took about 5 minutes, and calmed me right down. She explained to me that as much as she would love to rent me a unit and watch my things for me, I could just come in to this facility each month and pay my bill. She would handle everything for me. It has been my experience over the years bring in management for 31 years, that most regular employees don't even want to go the extra mile at their own place of employment, let alone help another facility located in another county. Let me tell you, Melissa was not only very kind, but knowledgeable regarding Public Storage. She made me feel like this company genuinely cares about its customers, and their feelings, not just renting units. This young woman represented Public Storage as if she was Public Storage. I can't think of any employer who could ever ask for more than that. I have since been telling all my friends and co-workers about Public Storage and so far, 3 of them have rented spaces from you. Who ever trained this young woman should know, she took her training and put it to good use, but she also brings all of herself and puts it into the job every single day. Melissa helped me with filling out paperwork for another location; I wanted to secure a storage space for the month of November, but I wouldn't be in that other location's area until a couple of weeks later. Although Melissa wasn't sure of the policy, she called the other location to find out more information. Paperwork got faxed over, and I filled it out. I was grateful to have the option to fill out paperwork locally (Novato), so that I could secure a space to secure my vehicle at a location closer to the airport.

However, a couple of things were frustrating. I had to leave the office because Melissa needed to help other customers and lock up the facility. I was ok with that, however, she didn't tell me that she was back. So I had waited outside longer than I needed to, and I already had tons of errands to run before the commuter traffic was going to start. The other thing was the other Public Storage location (near the airport) didn't get all the paperwork faxed to them; Melissa had forgotten to fax the addendum and the receipt. I then had to fax them myself; for some reason, there was an error, and I had spent 1.5 hours trying to send the fax from home, before giving up. I then put the documents in the mail.

This storage facility is modern, clean, safe, and well maintained. We have used a lot of storage facilities in the past due to our business, and I haven’t far had the best experience here. 3+ years ago we worked with Sara to find the perfect unit (for us, being as close as possible to an entry was paramount), and today I had the privilege to work with her again to move out. She helped get things cleaned up, and made sure we were able to get everything we needed safely packed in the truck.
