Ka Makana at Hoakalei — Local services in Oʻahu

If I could, I would give a negative star. Growing up in Hawaii, I feel Hoakalei is over priced since it is built over an old cane field and a history of horrible things. You have to pay a maintenance fee for other people to tell you how to park and how to live and what plants need to be the way they are. The hot tub is never hot or for a lack of a better statement, it works one week of half the year. It isn't a kid friendly place. This place is truly full of bull doodoo. Don't be fooled. The place isn't even safe. People come in from other areas to successfully steal from here and are never caught. Hope that helps. The HOA here is horrible. The pool and especially the hot tub are usually broken. They also like to fine you a lot for your yard without receiving a warning first like you're supposed to. I was fined once for my neighbors yard and when brought to their attention showing them the picture they took they did nothing to fix it. They also will you in advance before you even had a chance to fix the problem. On one occasion a tree died and I had to replace it.
