This was an excellent experience. Our entire family of 5 really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Katie was very knowledgeable and personable and was able to answer all of our questions and there were many. We didn't know what to expect as this was our first trip to a Cocoa farm. The grounds are beautiful and the class (tour) took place in nature. If you are looking for a bunch of machines making chocolate, this tour is not the one for you but if you want the experience and education of the start of the chocolate making process, the Cocoa trees with the pods that contain the Cocoa seeds that are dried to make the chocolate, give this tour a try. Katie and the plantation manager take you through the entire process getting the beans ready to make chocolate. You actually taste the beans through the different steps that initially don't taste like chocolate but then after they process it, you begin to taste chocolate. They'll let you taste the white stuff around the beans called the bloom which is part of the fermentation process. It really was a fun experience to crack open the pods and work with the beans. At the end, you goto to the tasting room where you get to taste a whole bunch of different yummy chocolates made with their beans. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Kamananui Chocolate Tour, and it was absolutely incredible! If you’re a chocolate lover visiting Oahu, this tour is a must-do. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff, and our guide Max was fantastic! His enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the local cacao farming process made the experience both fun and educational.

Max had a way of making complex topics easy to understand, and his passion for sustainable farming and high-quality chocolate really shone through. He kept us engaged the entire time with fascinating stories about the history of cacao in Hawaii and how they craft each bar by hand.
