Where to begin?! From the booking to the end of day drop off, Ryan and Becky were beyond amazing!

Booking: with COVID, we wanted to ensure our booking was 100% refundable if someone in our party had a positive result. The cancellation policy doesn’t have a COVID contingency so I called and asked if they could accommodate and asked to have that sent in email as a confirmation. Ryan was more than accommodating and immediately emailed us with the modified cancellation policy and even told me to call to book versus online to avoid online fees. Booking was easy and Ryan asked great questions to understand what type of group we were and what interests we had to ensure he created the perfect itinerary for us.

Day of: Pick up: Ryan called before pick to let me know/confirm the activities for the day. Ensured he had what he needed and that we packed what we needed. He was picking us up and was even 10 minutes early to ensure we were packed and ready to go right at 10 am!

First stop: Snorkeling! I have been snorkeling several times but this was by far the BEST I’ve done. The weather was perfect and sun shining and water was crystal blue clear. The fish and coral were beautiful. We saw a pod of dolphins, a seas turtle, sting ray and so many different type of tropical fish. There were some great underwater statues/ structures and Ryan shot some great photos/ videos. Becky was wonderful with my youngest daughter (10 years old) and ensured there was a surf board to hold into when she got tired.

2nd stop: mermaid caves! Right up the road from the snorkel spot and such a cool/ beautiful spot we did a little bit of exploring, took some great photos/videos and went to our next stop.

3rd stop: Waterfall Cliffs! Brief hike through lush forest to a cute hidden gem of a waterfall. There were ledges 8, 25 and 35 feet high that you could jump from. Most of my party jumped off one or all of them and it was amazing. Ryan took great photos and videos to capture the memories.

4th stop: Lunch at The Smoking Boar and the Coconut!! OMG, great recommendation by Ryan. The place is a family owned restaurant (Ryan and Becky’s neighbors in fact). Everyone in our party (8 people) absolutely LOVED what they ordered. I even tried a few bites of others too and everything was absolutely delicious. Even my youngest, who is the pickiest easter eva could stop eating hers and kept saying how it was the best rice she ever tasted.

5th stop: Surfing the North Shore!!!! Only two people had done any kind of surfing and Ryan and Becky had everything we would need. Down to the surfing clothes to avoid any rashes. The waves were perfect and everyone got up on their first try! Great instruction and really attentive to ensure we caught the wave and had the best experience. Ryan took photos and videos of the kids surfing and we got some great family photos at the end in front of the surf boards. Becky went tandem surfing with my youngest and she was AMAZING with her. My daughter didn’t want to stop.

In transit: Ryan and Becky were great conversationalist and the drive didn’t seem long at all to each stop because we were having so much fun just chatting.

Overall: I would book them every day if I knew how amazing the day would be. My girls and the rest of the party said it was the best day of the trip. Even if you’re only here for a day or two, BOOK THEM! You will not regret it. If/when we come back, we will definitely be booking them again.

This was truly the best day of my life and my 11-year-old son's life. Ryan picked us up promptly from our hotel with a warm greeting. There were two huge ice cold canisters of water he provided along with a box of snacks for the ride. We got along with Ryan instantly. He took us to the best kept secret spots on Oahu where only locals go. Our adventure started off with a bang when we spotted a pod of dolphins and swam out to them. Ryan captured the most amazing footage of our underwater playdate with about 40 dolphins and a few sea turtles. He's extremely knowledgable when it comes to Hawaii marine life and taught us so much. I trusted Ryan's lifeguard skills 100% during an intense moment when we had to swim through a few large waves and fight strong currents. My son was really nervous but Ryan was able to calm him down and make him feel safe. I knew we were in good hands. We visited the Mermaid Caves, we stopped for a bite to eat, then we did SUP for the first time. Ryan's introductory lesson was really helpful to have before we paddled out. Ryan also took us to the perfect spot where I could fly my drone and capture some beautiful footage. We finished the day at a secret waterfall spot where we got to jump off different levels of cliffs into fresh water. Before we were dropped back off at our hotel, Ryan airdropped tons of amazing pictures and videos from our day straight onto my phone. The entire trip, Ryan coached us to push our limits and experience Hawaii in ways we would not otherwise have seen possible. Months later, my son is still talking about how cool Ryan is and he's asking me when our next trip to visit will be. The experience is SO worth the price. I'm actually returning next month and have already booked two more days with Ryan. If you only have one day in Oahu, Mahina Hawaii is an absolute MUST. I promise you won't...

This was our second adventure with Mahina Hawaii. We have also highly recommended Mahina to friends who have booked adventures. Our first experience (in 2018) was AMAZING. So amazing that you worry if the second experience can possibly measure up to the first. Well, those worries were quickly extinguished and we had another INCREDIBLE day. Trust me when I say, I have the highest of high expectations and Ryan and his team do not disappoint!

It starts with exceptional communication with Ryan. From the moment I got on-line to book, Ryan engaged me personally to ensure pricing and adventure selections were accurate/appropriate. Ryan also communicated in advance of our day to double check arrangements and discuss some new options/preferences. He is an absolute class act and embodies the concept of "Live Aloha".

Much like our day in 2018, our 2021 adventure was seamless from pick-up to drop off. Our guide.... now simply known as our good friend, Evan, was incredible. Kind, attentive, incredibly knowledgeable and just so terrific to hang out with. We enjoyed a gorgeous kayak trip to an unbelievable sandbar, crystal clear snorkeling off a beautiful reef, stellar cliff jumping and a wonderful waterfall hike. I lived on Oahu for 5 years and I could never have never pulled this off without our friends at Mahina. Thank you Evan!!!

At a time where customer service seems to be an after thought for many businesses, it is so encouraging to find folks like those at Mahina Hawaii.
