Course was a little worn but overall not bad and the views were great. My biggest concern was the customer service by Charlie.
We had a 8:37 tee time. The group in front was still on the fairway at 8:45. By the time we finally teed off, the starter announced "please do not hit 2 tee shots." They assumed we took 2 shots because there was a line behind us but we could not tee off unless we hit into the group in front.
This set a bad precedent as the group behind got angry at the slow pace and hit a ball on the green as we were putting.
Hole 2 it is now 9:05 and we're at the tee box waiting for the guys to move up the fairway. I call the pro shop expressing the slow pace and the fact we were behind hit from behind with only a rude response of "you play behind them or you skip a hole, I gave you your choice, OKAY?!"
I was shocked, in 15 years of golf I have never been yelled at as such. We told him there was a third option, tell them to keep up pace of play, which he said ok but didn't seem to care. Wouldn't let us finish our story and kept interrupting that his idea was better. It wasn't right that he suggested that we skip a hole when we paid for a full 18 and not at least ask the group in front to move first.
Ultimately we figured it out but the attitude and sass added with a complete lack of communication and problem solving skills ruined the entire day.
TLDR: pro shop doesn't understand pace of play and blames the players for not solving their...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this course for those that want to enjoy an outing with friends. Most golfers on this course think they're PGA material and are pushy about the pace of your game. They'll call and complain and Golf marshals will show up if you're not hitting the 2:07 timeline for 9 holes. "We were at 2:14." Additionally we were waiting on 3 holes for the group ahead of us, which we didn't mind. Then they'll say they're not built to allow for you to stop at the snack shack at hole 9 to allow complainers to move ahead you, "which they recommended". It's garbage entitled people that think their time is more important. I've played on much better courses in Hawaii that have the customer in mind. Their driving range faces east, so if you're wanting to get some practice in the morning before your tee time, you can hit, but the sun blinds you from seeing where your shots are going. Again, find somewhere else to go that is not seething with entitled retirees or regular higher ups that can't stand to be off their pace for a few minutes. Side note: The onion rings were good at the...
Read moreAMAZING GOLF COURSE. This course deserves a 4-star rating, but when we arrived at 0900 today - Feb 7th, 2019 (so you can see who was working) - the man running the desk was extremely rude. He didn’t offer much help and said my veteran status was no good even though I was golfing with an active duty member. I get the policy, but don’t disrespect my service and sacrifice, I spent time at war during my time of service, just tell me how much I need to pay. Truly upset by the guys comments. To further extend our frustration we were given a cart, so we loaded it, then had to swap it with another cart when he reassigned us. He wouldn’t even give me enough paper towels to dry it off. He had the gall to ask me if I had my own towel, I told him we did, but it was soaked from drying off the first golf cart. The guy working this morning was very disrespectful and frustrated the other two golfers we were paired with by switching their carts last...
