The staff is friendly. If you have a loved one pass, I would not recommend using this mortuary. I understand that things are taking a little longer with COVID. That being said, the staff should have more definitive answers when asked. My loved one's death certificate wasn't filed when I was told it would be filed for. I called 3 days later and I was told it was filed. I asked what day it was filed on and I was placed on hold. I was then told that it wasn't filed and currently was being filed as we spoke. There was no advance notice of when my loved one would be moved from the hospital to the mortuary. I found out when calling the mortuary for another reason that she was in transit. It was just like an "oh by the way" conversation. I was told that an email would be sent with a photo to ID my loved one and that didn't happen when I was told it would. I had to call a day later to ask to get it. The death certificate was supposed to take 2-3 weeks to arrive. It didn't. I called after 3 weeks to check in with the coordinator and was told it wasn't at their office after 3 weeks and 1 day. If you ever lost a loved one and are waiting on documentation to finalize affairs for them, you understand. The coordinator told me she would call on Monday since the day I called was a Friday. I called that following Monday and she wasn't at work. I had to get the number to the health department and call to see what the hold up was on the death certificate. The health department told me the mortuary should be the one calling and he could see the certificate in his system, but couldn't explain why it hadn't been mailed out yet. We ended up calling the owner of the mortuary and he was able to accommodate us. He sent a courier down the following morning to pick up the certificate so we could get it. All this being said, the loss of a loved one can be unexpected, heart-breaking, and stressful to say the least. You shouldn't have to do footwork for your loved one's death when you've paid for services to be rendered. Nearly all communications with this place were initiated by me. This takes a tragic, life altering event and makes it even worse when someone can't seemingly do their job. I went with this place because it was closer to where I live out of convenience and not having to call any other places and rehash discussing what services were needed for. I would gladly have driven to Honolulu to a better rated place had I known how ridiculous the process would have been dealing with them. Please take your business elsewhere to get you and your loved one the care...

Hindsight is 20/20…..Our brother Jason died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, majority of our Ohana live here but I live in the mainland near St. Louis, Missouri, I caught a flight the next day to be with my brother’s kids, my sisters, and our last brother standing. Yesterday, we went to Aloha Mortuary with our niece to make arrangements for him. We also let them know my situation of flying in the other day and having to fly back Sunday due to work on Monday. Shana at Aloha was very understanding but explained that Mililani had him and in order for Aloha to receive him they needed a payment of $650 plus tax to release his body to Aloha for transport and that they would try their best to make this happen but couldn’t promise anything since Jason wasn’t with them. We appreciated the transparency. We left and headed to Mililani to make the payment, while we were there we decided to ask if it would be possible for me to see him, as we explained to them my situation. I knew it was a long shot but we thought we’d try. The lady said she had to ask her manager, after awhile of waiting the manager came out and informed us the reason for the long wait was she had to make some calls to see if this was possible. Which it was, she called it an identification and inspection of his body which would cost $450 plus tax for 15 mins with 3 people at a time in their small room that holds 25 people. I accepted their offer as at the moment I was in no position to argue, honestly I thought they would say $200-250 but that was not the case. While we were there we noticed a scratch on the left side of his forehead, unfortunately we didn’t say anything, not that they would have told us anything. As I stated above hindsight is 20/20, I just wanted to share my experience….the staff at Mililani Memorial were very nice, great customer service, the place is beautiful, but the pricing was way more than what we received at...

They don’t even deserve a star. Difficult people to work with. Always looking for something to charge us for. We got charged for every little thing they could think of. No compassion or respect for the family and friends that’s grieving. No one works together Mauka and Makai offices don’t communicate. Was told we didn’t make certain payments told them we did we have the receipts to prove it. If it weren’t for us keeping our receipts they would’ve charged us for their error. Everything still on paper nothing is electronic. The front desk people always seemed lost and sometimes rude. They brought the casket late and the ushers had the nerve to rush us with the mass and service. They told us just a few days before the service that the burial time moved up to an earlier time because they were short staffed. Being that they’re the only mortuary on the west side they take full advantage of that and of the people and...
