I've gone back and forth debating if I was going to say anything. But, it was still bothering me after 24hrs, so here we are. My husband and I came into the store on Wednesday to purchase a butterfly latch for a chainlink fence we were installing. My purse is a backpack style bag. I was stopped by a young guy working who said no backpacks were allowed in the store and that I could leave it up at the register or take it back to my car. Wasn't going to leave it with strangers at the counter because I don't know them and took it out to my car, no biggie. It wasn't until we were walking to the register and I see an older woman with a purple BACKPACK who obviously had went through the store to shop and checkout. I felt insulted and quite frankly, my feelings were hurt and I started to think maybe I was judged by my appearance... I have my nose pierced and tattoos covering both of my arms... if there is a policy in place it needs to be for everyone, not just who you look at and think may be trying to steal something... I'm assuming that's why the policy is in place. I was so flustered leaving that store because I am a kind and good person and it really did hurt my feelings when I seen the old lady that looked like a Sunday school teacher with a backpack on her back and it wasn't a problem, but for me it was.... will not be a...
Read moreI drove past a Lowes store, a Home Depot, and a Menards to go all the way into the O'Fallon Ace Hardware to get paint for my beautiful home that I work very hard to enjoy. I took in the paint and container from my previous purchase from Ace so they would have the EXACT codes necessary to again make my paint so I could touch up my living room and hallway. The employee at Ace took in upon herself not to be concerned at all with the paint codes I provided her with and simply do her own thing; whereupon, I drove all the way back home totaling an hour round trip, only to find out my paint did not match. When I called Ace back the manager and young lady that completely messed up my paint informed me that yes she would remake it right this time and match what I had provided originally, but as for my time wasted that was simply too bad and my LOSS... I will NEVER return to this store to make another purchase, and I HIGHLY advise anyone considering them to change...
Read moreI'm rewriting my review to better accurately describe my experience:
I'm heavily pregnant and thus immune compromised. There was supposed to be a mask requirement for this store, it wasn't really enforced. Which I understand for customers but I'd think the employees would be required. I do think if someone asks an employee to pull their mask up while talking to them it shouldn't be an issue. I reminded an employee to pull his mask up and he blatantly stared at me and refused. We were checking out and he would have been able to remove his "mask" (gator neck) within minutes. Its disappointing from a smaller store. I wouldn't imagine a young boy being rude and disrespectful to a pregnant woman, let alone any customer, is something that is acceptable. Im really disappointed, we liked shopping there and some of the workers are extremely...
