ALDI — Local services in O'Fallon

I just had an extremely poor experience at this location. After filling a cart full of groceries I get to the front there are only self checkouts available. We were greeted by an employee to help and explained that he would get the eggs since they are not ringing up. At no time were we ever explained that it was card only. After self ringing our cart of over 300 dollars of food me and my wife while having two children with us attempted to pay and at that time asking an employee how do we pay cash. He explained that it’s card only and would have to be re rung since they can not hold the self carts. I expressed my frustration and he points above my head at a sign saying card only. I’ve been going to Aldi since I was a little kid in Overland Park, KS. I love how this chain has changed over the years. The O’Fallon, IL location is fantastic. Even though they’re busy every time I go, I can still move down the aisle and get my shopping done in good time (fantastic remodel). I absolutely love their household items for sell each week - it’s been amazingly helpful for replacing old items I’ve been lugging around for years. The food, from meats and cheese to fresh produce are excellent. The price of their eggs can’t be beat. The employees are awesome - they are always working and they do that, with a smile. I appreciate the constant low prices. Some discount stores will say this is their everyday price then after a few months increase them. I enjoy their salad mix the price is awesome. They also some amazing wine selects at awesome prices. I just tried the peach wine. It is very delicious, I will be stocking up on it if I'm not mistaken I believe it was only $3.99 a bottle.
