My husband and I just left this store and are incredibly frustrated. We went in looking for maternity bras. I have never been to a store that the merchandise was specifically bras and had high hopes of finding a comfortable nursing bra. Upon entering we started looking and an employee shouted at my husband from the back of the store that he would have to wait up front. It was something I had never considered as he was there to help me. Upon entering the store, we did not see any signs indicating this policy, if there were we missed them. He immediately went to the front as instructed. However, the same employee did not even offer to help me. She was ok with embarrassing a man who was only trying to help his pregnant wife. The other employee that saw us enter while standing at the cash register did not say anything to us. So just a heads up to those that want to have their husbands with them, this store will not allow that. I have never been to this store before, but I will also never return.
Response to the Owner:
Thank you for your quick response. I believe signs would help. We have never been to your store before, we were on a mission to find a bra and were focused on our task. We may have stayed if the employee would have taken the time to address us quietly in person instead of shouting at us from across the store and making a scene. It did not cross our minds for the reason when I have shopped at other female specific stores for bras he has accompanied me without any issues. He and I would never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. As soon as your employee shouted at him he quickly complied and went up by the doors and I followed. Maybe there is a solution to be considered to provide better privacy for your customers that are in "a state of undress" as you said. So no one that enters can see anything that would make your patrons uncomfortable. We left your store immediately, so no issues could continue without making a scene or making any statements to your staff. With reading your response, I gather men don't attempt to buy anything from your store for their significant others. Your apology seems backhanded. Have a...
Read moreI arrived at the store a few minutes before opening with Debbie. Once someone that was inside unlocked the door (who never said a word to me) Debbie invited me in to look around. She immediately came over to assist me. I knew the size I needed but she was very helpful. Debbie told me that she has been there for a few months and will help me find what I needed. It started to get a little busy and as I was behind the curtain, another saleslady came over and asked if I needed any help. I did at that time and Betty jumped right in and was handing me different bras to try and adjusting the back of my straps to ensure a proper fit. Debbie was busy helping others and it was great that Betty was there to give the help that was needed. The privacy is nice as well as the fans in the dressing rooms. I have bought from this store for many years but I think a kudos was warranted for the excellent service that Debbie and Betty provided. They are an asset to Ann's. I also would note that the lady that opened the door and didn't speak to me was wearing scrubs and looked like the cleaning lady but was also a saleslady. Appropriate attire would be more professional. She should to be friendly to all customers because I just spent over $200. I will be back and will look for Betty and Debbie for superb...
Read moreI went to this location today and had a less than desirable experience. I was looking for a bra that could help provide support for an open back bridesmaid dress, and to see if there was a bra that they would recommend with some lace or sheer or anything that I could wear to make it look cute. Upon taking a look at the dress I was immediately judged by the sales lady, who proceeded to grab the manager, who came back and proceeded to tell me that someone of my “size” (gesturing to my entire body not even my chest) should never wear a dress like that, in her 24 years of experience’d opinion. I was then told to take my dress to a seamstress to fix the back and then come back and maybe they could help me. I was then left in the changing area, without any assistance or follow up. I went ready to spend some money on a bra for a dress I originally felt pretty good in, only to leave in tears. For a shop that advertises “ Beautiful Lingerie for the fuller figure” on its website, my experience in the store today did not give the impression that they really cared. I will not...
