For great hometown service, quality products, with much better customer service than Walmart give Mac's Fresh Market an opportunity to earn your business. The quality of their meat outclasses Walmart's meat by far while their prices is also much cheaper. I purchased Filet Mignon at Walmart numerous times but because of the cartilidge, litres, and grissel they couldn't even be ate. When someone pays $18--$20+ dollars a pound you want a prime piece of meat that has superior flavor, marbling, that is tender. You don't pay $20 a pound for a piece of boot leather. Walmart's packages all say that they are Certified Angus with 100% Money Back Satisfaction Guaranteed however the guarantee isn't worth what it's written on. Even though it doesn't say that the receipt is required for the guarantee to be honored when you bring their sorry excuse for Filet Mignon back uncooked showing them how bad it is they refuse to honor the guarantee. I even took pictures and sent them to the Walmart Corporate Office who sent a gift card for a portion of the cost. After they took them off the shelf and quit selling them for awhile but have since brought them back. Save yourself a lot of headache and aggravation by going to Mac's Fresh Market to purchase all of your meat. You won't be disappointed and by some slim chance you have any issues Mac's will make it right no questions asked. They will not try to deceive you, give you the run around, and take advantage of you. You will save $3 a pound or more and after you taste their meat you won't get ripped off by Walmart ever again. Their butchers will help you and cut your meat in any way you like. The store was clean and welcoming. Staff friendly and helpful. Surprisingly well stocked for small rural Louisiana town...not surprisingly lacking cultural ingredients for Mediterranean, Asian and other cultures cuisine cooking, but then there is probably is a very low demand for such things.
