OMG. Rainbow River, even in late November, can’t be topped for swimming, tubing, kayaking, diving, canoeing and even fishing. The beauty is astounding - old Florida at its very best (check out my (if I do say so myself) A-ma-zing pictures! This River is spring-fed which means it is crystal clear. Like many of these type rivers in Florida, there are multiple springs that provide millions of gallons of pristine water each year. Divers come from near and far due to some of the boils being large enough to enter, the largest being the ‘K-hole’. The public park across from the K-hole is very nice. If you are handicap forget about going there. Chair provided to us has broken food rest pedals, no sign where to go for handicap road access. Road going steep down , only strong person can hold wheelchair without letting it loose. Chair for putting handicap person to the water is broken and cover, kids using it for play. Deep steps to water 6 feet deep. Only 4 steps than you have to jump. Kids blocking stairs by standing jumping and playing. My husband got kicked in hia spine and person who was watching this area care less about anything. I can"t believe someone can run place like that.
