I finally went to Wayne's World of Paintball, A Nightmare on Pine Street, 5 acres of Haunted attractions. The parking is free, unless you choose to donate to Toy's for Tots which has donation collectors working the parking lot.
If you need food or beverages, there's a tent to the left of the line, managed by Boyscouts which sells such items. Port-a-potties are available in that area as well.
My friend and I waited in line for 1hr and 10 minutes before we were able to enter the trail. It wasn't a bad wait in line considering it was opening night. Yes, even though the wait was long, I've seen Wayne's World more crowded in the past, at least what I could tell, while driving by the parking lot.
Once at the front of the waiting in line, you pay your fee at the Fortune Teller booth, cost of the ticket is $10 for adult and $5 for 12yrs and younger, cash only.
There is no tolerance for saving spots or skipping in line. You cannot have someone wait in line, while someone goes pay for the ticket, and then have the ticket purchaser find their way to their party. If caught doing so, you will be moved back of the line or ask to leave entirely.
Once your ticket is paid for, you are gathered with a group, a guide will collect your ticket and tell you the rules. (The guide will not enter the trail with you.) Due to no photography on the trail, I wasn't able to capture any of the props, display areas, or performers. If caught taking imagery, you will be escorted out and will not be given a refund.
They had scare zones and haunted houses along the trails. Scare zones included scarecrow/corn field, a haunted graveyard, a junkyard, playground /toy zone, and Bayou with vampires, bats and spiders. For the houses, there is a Stranger Things house, A Haunted Mansion, Mad Scientist Laboratory, Black out Maze, and White Out/It Pennywise maze.
Most of the ideas seemed to be taken from Tampa Howl-O-Scream in Busch Gardens. Depending on how fast you walk it can last up to 45 minutes. This trail lasted 25 minutes for our experience. It's a fun Halloween event and mostly affordable, if it you have a...
Read moreThis place needs some serious love. Wayne’s World is an iconic field, but over the years it has clearly fallen apart. The staff is friendly, professional, and helpful, so no complaints there. The problems are with the facility itself: the pro shop is pretty bare, the rental gear is in poor condition, and the fields and pavilion areas are rundown. There’s junk from old scenarios and other misc crap scattered around, and the staging area has no real seating—just a few old folding chairs that are damaged and should’ve been tossed long ago and more random junk.
The fields are overgrown, the buildings are deteriorating, and removing the only speedball field was a big mistake. Competitive players are a huge part of the sport, and now there’s nothing here to keep them coming back. Walk-on games are scheduled from 10:00–10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., but most players leave around lunchtime simply because there’s no crowd or energy left. Honestly, if it weren’t for the loyal regulars and the couple local teams that still show up and support this place, this field probably would have closed already. Those players deserve credit and appreciation for keeping the place alive.
It’s especially sad because some of my best memories are from playing here years ago, and the potential is still there. With proper landscaping, repairs, and the addition of even one or two speedball fields (which there’s plenty of room for), Wayne’s World could absolutely come back strong and draw big crowds again. But many past reviews say the same things, and nothing has changed.
For now, I’ll continue making the one-hour drive to Orlando, where the experience is 10000% better. Wayne and Jackie, please listen to your customers and reinvest in this field before it’s too late. Don’t let an iconic paintball field fade away when it has all the potential in the world to...
Read moreSafety is not a concern here and I saw a ref assault a player. Never seen this kind of negligence on a field and for my safety and the safety of others had to leave this review. The player who was assaulted will be releasing a video on what happened. The player did acknowledge he broke a "Minimum safe distance rule" and tried walking away initially as to not cause any problems, but the player that was shot at close range pursued and shot at him. The player who broke the rule shot back and this is when the ref ran up and punched him. Totally unprofessional way of handling this situation that led to more problems then it solved.
How it should have been handled: Ref should've stopped the game right there, Called out blind man, and do everything to get everyone to stop shooting. Instead of attacking the player, you can easily detach the HPA hose or push the barrel of the gun down or take a mag out or do anything besides assault the player. If the staff encourage this behavior, I'm not surprised to see players threatening to punch someone. If I see the business address this issue professionally, I will update my review, but as of right now, they don't seem to take the safety of there players seriously and I highly discourage you go here. Plenty of amazing outdoor fields near Central Florida that are ran much more professionally, no need to keep this one around.
UPDATE: The Team from Waynes World of Paintball reached out to me! Never had a business do this, so got a lot of respect for that. They are looking more into it, but let me know the Airsoft that runs on the field is a separate entity from Wayne's world of paintball. I'll only hold that entity responsible for negligence, Wayne's World of Paintball is handling...
