Ocean City Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry & Appliances Inc — Local services in Ocean City

I received 2 inquiries from OCK&B a couple of days ago, and replied to one, with extensive comments regarding my "poor" rating. Was that not received? If not, here are my comments again, greatly abbreviated: The plusses- excellent selection of materials and design options in the showroom. excellent work done by the 2 craftsmen who actually installed the new shower in our Ocean City condo a couple of years ago.

The Minuses- The total cost seemed exorbitant for what seemed like a straightforward job. We were charged about $11,000. We were not offered any deals or extended payment payment plans. We were told the job would be done promptly, definitely less than a month as I recall. The job actually took at least 4 months. For this period, we had no bathing facilities, and delivered supplies were stored in our living room. For most of this period, no work was being done. We gave specific instructions on the design of the shower, yet the niche was incorrect. When we pointed this out, the owner of OCK&B said any modification would be an additional cost to us. Despite what is noted in OCB&K's website, we were never contacted to ask how things were going, or if there were any installation issues to discuss. The only calls we received were "Your next payment is due now". We made every payment promptly as we always do with contractors who do work for us. When we were trying to get the niche problem solved (I eventually made a suggestion which worked, but was not what we wanted), OCK&B became confrontational rather than helpful. We were told that if we had installation issues, we should contact the installation contractor. I strongly disagree. The contractors are chosen by OCB&K, they set the terms of the contract we signed, and they should be directly involved in working with the customer to assure that the customer receives the finished job which cost us $11,000...

We got our kitchen counter and backsplash ,kitchen sink, disposal done through OC,KAB. Our condo in Ocean City,MD is vacation home!

When we went there for initial visit, we had great experience, and saw that this business is inherent for more than 20 years! We were told that the work will be done in phases, 1st week, conter top measurements, next week, installation of countertop, that same visit measurements for backsplash, and last week will be installation of backsplash! Countettop part went well, for backsplash measurements, whe we received papers to sign, as my husband is very very detailed oriented, and mentioned that measurements were incorrect . But we were given answer that They will figure out and cut it on site. Off course it did not work as multiple measurements were incorrect. we had to stay longer in town, and had to make special arrangements at our primary home so our work gets done as per our expectations! We were told by Countettop company people that if we were not present they would have modified and finish the job! During all this we NEVER heard from owner. After the work finished, we had to ask for some discount, and finally it was over! For 20+ years in business, I am really surprised that there are only few reviews and all are positive!! I am hoping this...

I can't say enough about what a class operation this is. We started by replacing all of the windows in the home, and then did a complete kitchen remodel, and all new floors. Brian (The owner) & his subcontractor Raul (owner of Cover Contracting) were part of every step. They were personally involved in all aspects. They came to design and measure what we wanted on day one. They made suggestions, and thought of many details that we did not think of. As time went on, Sharon was also a huge help with picking out counter tops, back splash and other details. As with the end of every renovations, there are little things that need to be addressed. (A very small list for all that we had done.) They were handled very efficiently, and to my specifications. I had several people bid on the project, and none of them had good follow through, except this team. The price was fair and done...
