My advice is never bring a deer here for processing. I brought a doe in to be processed the 1st weekend of the Michigan muzzle loader season of 2017. When I got there I noticed they didn’t weigh my deer, and ask them why! The young man told me that the scale was broken, which should of tipped me off right away, as they brought the deer into the back I could see racks of deer carcasses hanging that needed to be processed, which worried me. They told me about 2 weeks till the deer will be ready, which worried me even more, but non the less I left the deer there! I’ve killed a lot of deer over the yrs and the doe by no means was a yearling. It took them a little over 3 weeks to process my deer, now I know they’re room they hang those deer in isn’t below freezing, but leaving a deer hang for 3 weeks is like taking a package of ground meat or whatever and leaving it sit unwrapped in your refrigerator for 3 weeks. I sure wouldn’t eat that meat after it sat that long, anyways, I figured I would get at least 50 lbs of venison after deboned and processed! When they brought my venison box to me it wasn’t a large box at all, I could carry it with on arm! I told them that there should be more meat than that and the person said I don’t know, this is what’s back there! I estimated the deer dressed and with the hide to be around 108 to 110 lbs. this nice had only about 25 lbs of meat in it! The man said well they probably had to throw a lot away because of the wound area, I told him I double lung shot the deer and the only thing that wouldn’t be eatable would be the ribs which I don’t usually get back anyways. They either took some meat or they had to throw a lot of it away from hanging to long in the process and it probrabky went ransid. They should never accept that many deer for processing unles they can guarantee you have it back within a week! Don’t waist your time and $100 for proceeding st this place, Also my buddy had his processed here and he had venison stickes made and the casings were breaking up and coming off the meat sticks. I won’t ever take a deer here for processing and I will be sure to tell...
Read moreDO NOT take your deer to this place. It took a month for them to process my deer, got back a small box of meat, my deer weighed 107 lbs and barely got 20 lbs back. Rip off!! I have checked thousands of deer and there is no way in heck that my deer only weighed 107 lbs, even the young man (employee) said wow that is a huge doe. When I was unloading my deer and I was struggling with it and the old guy just stood there watching me, not once offering to help. Then I dragged over to their "scale" (rigged) and he proceeded to ask me what I wanted and explained it would run about $200. I asked him how long would it take to process the deer he said two maybe three weeks!! I should have packed up my deer and left at that point. Not only were there deer stacked up outside that appeared to have been there a while there were also two large rolling carts overflowing with deer carcasses with plenty of meat on the ribs yet. I called them about two and a half weeks after dropping my deer of and I had to listen to this old guy piss and moan about too many deer and the fact that he can't get anyone to come to work...ONE MONTH after dropping my deer off I finally was able to go pick it up. What a rip off, I thought maybe the guy bringing the deer up forgot a box! Nope. The bill came to $150 and half of the items I ordered were not there. HERE IS THE KICKER - MY MEAT IS ROTTEN, ALL OF THE STEAKS, TENDERLOIN AND BACKSTRAPS! I have opened up two packages since picking up my meat and thawed them for one day in the fridge and they are ROTTEN. Where was my deer stored for ONE MONTH? I have told numerous hunting friends and others about this place, I hope the DNR and Health department shut them down. I have...
Read moreBrought a doe there this year and this place is such a scam. When I went to pick up my meat the butcher walks out with a tiny box which I opened up and it had literally 10 pounds of ground, 3 lbs of snack sticks, and back straps.
Total of 13lbs of meat plus back straps.
I told them what is this? Where is the rest of my deer? They tried to play it off, like that was it and I had to argue with them that this is ridiculous, I brought in a healthy doe and I should have gotten 30-35 lbs of ground plus the specialty cuts.
Plus, once I left I realized they didn’t give me my tenderloins too which is the best cut of the deer.
The sales clerk at the front desk ended up telling the butcher to go get me 10 more lbs of ground, I still wasn’t okay with that so he sends him back for 5 more lbs.
So then I’m wondering, who’s deer did they give me?
This place is clearly unorganized and they don’t care about making sure you get your own deer back.
I paid $160 for 25 lbs of ground venison, some snack sticks, and backstraps.
They are running a very shady operation, stealing portions of everyone’s deer and money.
Very...
