Although I love my home and my neighbors are great, the Bexley community is not at all what they promised buyers it would be. The HOA and CDD fees are extremely high, yet neither organization does what they are supposed to do. The landscapers are horrible and do not keep up with simple tasks such as lawn mowing and weed control. The plants in the common areas are dead or dying, the irrigation systems never seem to work properly. They refuse to turn off the sprinkler system in the dog park, which is completed flooded from all of the summer rains. People can't even take their dogs there in the summer because the run-off and standing reclaimed water make the dogs sick. Street signs are crooked and debris is left behind by construction crews. When I sent an email to the HOA regarding an issue with my irrigation system (which they control), I did not even get a response. I am highly disappointed in how run-down Bexley looks and I'm only six months in. It makes me wish I would have purchased in Asturia or...
Read moreNo stars. Not anymore. Any potential buyers please beware. I would encourage you to, not only drive, but walk throughout the community of Bexley and look with your own eyes. Pay attention to detail to all areas. Notice the conditions and upkeep of these areas. Also, make sure you get the most up to date CDD fees sheet. They’re have been going up yearly. It’s not cheap. Look at the fees and then look at the conditions of the common areas and determine yourself if this community is where you want to call home. These areas have been in these conditions for over a year. The sheer incompetence and lack of true oversight and management of this CDD is awful and appalling. Look at the trails. Look at the various street signs. Look at the parks. Look at all areas. Look closely. Is this what you want? I was fooled, hopefully...
Read moreI have lived here for over a year and was one of the first residents to purchase a home. I have awesome neighbors and still love my house, but completely upset by the lack of care being given to our common areas. They are full of weeds and dead plants. The CDD keeps saying it will get better and nothing changes at all. We have some of the highest CDD rates, which were just raised, by a corporate CDD board with no resident representation and little concern or care as to what the community wants. The HOA is also corporate managed, with no home owner on it, and do little except make new ridiculous rules without any homeowner input. Both hold meetings during the day when people are working and can't attend to voice concerns. This should be a premium community but it is going down hill...
