Illinois Valley Community College — Local services in Oglesby

I have taken seven classes at IVCC, some during high-school; some online; some in the summers while attending a state University; and some classes after University, solely because I was interested in the subject.

I can honestly say, I have nothing bad to say about IVCC. The people at the front-desk are happy to direct you; the bookstore people are a class-act all the way; the library staff is beyond helpful; the cashiers aren't rude when you ask them basic questions; and the advisors genuinely care about your academic success -- they have, in my experience, went out of their ways to help me, even during the busy class-scheduling times.

Most noteworthy, every professor I've had has been excellent. It seems they're in it for more than a paycheck -- they genuinely want to teach their students and care about their students' success.

Excellent education. They have ample assistance available toward those with disabilities or the disenfranchised. Lots of tutors available for free of charge. There's a few teachers that suck, but that's in every school. Most of the teachers are amazing. The only thing about IVCC is that their website and mobile app suck. Went to mega covid shot event. Went to the door on the east side of the campus (where we got our 1st shot) but it's not there. Sign on the door says go to gym. No directions. Went to main campus door and was told gym is a separate building on the west side of campus. Drove around til we found the farthest drive to the gym ( no signs).
