We started our hike at 9:30 on a beautiful, cloud free Tuesday morning. The hike starts out very gradual and stays like that for the first couple miles. The hike starts to get some incline but nothing too crazy. The fall colors were amazing and give it about another week or two and the larches will be out in full effect. If you’re wanting to get some amazing views but don’t want to deal with the Maple Pass crowds then this is the hike to do. The trail was very peaceful. Once we got to the top of the Pass we took the PCT for another mile and a half and the views opened up some more. This hike is just going to continue to keep getting prettier. We saw about 10 horses at the pass so that made coming down fun having to dodge all the piles of horse poop. Overall, beautiful day. Round trip 13.5 miles and 2,400 feet...

13sep2021 morning hiked "Cutthroat Pass via PCT" .. sunny 50s_F mid-day .. beautiful and scenic views of the Cascades .. And encountered (total) 30 people and 4 dogs ..Everyone's beautiful too .. friendly,...

I'd say this 10.4 miles hike (get up to the pass and back to the parking lot) is the most amazing hike I've ever been to. Views are absolutely gorgeous on both sides...
