Dollar General — Local services in Okay

We really need this little store in our small town, but what I just saw, unfortunately was not good, it was 757 am, I watched stroke patient walk up to door at 7:57 am, dragging his foot to get up curb to door, I rolled my window down, to let him know he had 3 minutes before store opened, he chose to stay by door, ( it was unfortunate of his situation) staff was coming out , her replay was “ well I can’t help it but we open at 8am and it’s gonna be a while”, poor man went back to his truck and drove away. She was so rude to him, then I go in store and shop till 8:31 am, only to be told on my way to register, “ we aren’t taking anyone “ , I wasn’t sure what she meant and continued to register, she had her husband standby register and you could tell she was upset, I asked if register was down? , as this is not first issues with their registers, she repeated we aren’t taking anyone, I told her I had left my elderly mother at home and could I leave my basket here, so I didn’t have to spend another 30 minutes reshooting and would come back, her reply” well I’m gonna lock the door when you leave” , so I asked for store number , so I could call before returning, she said nothing and didn’t give me...

I visited the store in Okay, Oklahoma and will not be back after this experience. I walked in with an empty pop can and empty paper cup and asked the clerk if they had a trash receptacle to throw them in the trash. The clerk informed me they do not have trash receptacles for the public inside or outside. I asked if she could simply throw an empty can and cup in the trash she stated no to take it back to my vehicle. So I left and went next door to the convenience store where they were happy to have my business and had trash receptacles! But really the clerks attitude is really why I will not be back to this establishment! I used to be a almost daily customer! I will spend my money elsewhere that focuses more on customer service...

It's very nice to have a store like this in a small town BUT... this store is a train wreck. Most aisles are full of carts waiting to be up stocked. Floors are dirty and products are always in the way of clear walking. The "fresh food" vegetable section isn't clean and smells. And, the help is really no help at all. Outside smoking more then Inside cleaning and clearing aisles. But, if you live in the area and need a $5 bag of potato chips, you're in luck. Ps. The manager penny is the worst. Get it together !!! This chain needs to treat employees with respect and dignity. Something this cooperation...
