Fareway Meat Market — Local services in Olathe

Very disappointed. We were excited to have Fairway open here in Olathe and sure enough they did not disappoint with the “grand opening” put their best foot forward. However now that some time has passed I have noticed that the staff especially behind the meat counter just seem to not care. We are in often so its not just one observation. This lack of caring came to a head when we purchased some chicken breasts(which by the way make sure you ask them where they get their chicken, you might never buy it again) we got home and opened up the butcher paper to find a good size bug of some kind on our meat. As you can imagine we went back to the store and asked to speak with a manager who came out and only said “thats not good” “refund or exchange” no concern, no apology nothing. Very sad that this dismissive attitude starts with the managers and runs through the staff. Unfortunately if the staff does not care and there is no quality control we are going to take our business elsewhere. Be safe people when purchasing from a meat market that...

This is a new location for Fareway / McGonegal's across 135th Street from Johnson County Airport in Olathe. The facility was built for them so it is new and is very well laid out. There is the main grocery store which features the best meats in town. There is a significant liquor store under the same roof, through an interior door.

They decided to make the meat counter larger than the original store and I appreciate that. It is very well stocked. They are staffed up. The service is professional, courteous and efficient.

This place is SO awesome. The stock is always well displayed and orderly, the store is clean and inventory includes options I don't find elsewhere. Now, that meat case is a thing of wonder. Beautiful. Quality. The big misconception is that meat market = expensive. Untrue. Much better quality for pennies more. The $10 ribs. OMGOSH. Best buy ever. I took 3 slabs from KS to VA for a Christmas holiday meal and my family was ecstatic. Wonderful, easy entrée. Add veggie & salad, what a meal. Last and absolutely not least, the people.
