Prairie Highlands Golf Club — Local services in Olathe

I can’t get over the improvements made to this course. I’ve always loved playing here but agree that it needed some love. Well now it’s getting it and it’s looking beautiful! Big complaint was always the poor condition of the bunkers...no longer the case. Beautiful white sand has replaced the ugly dirt and the grounds are being maintained like never before. The practice area is also being improved. Still waiting to see how the clubhouse does once it reopens. Some of the fairways still need some TLC, but I have no doubt that will happen as well. This is a formerly public course turned private recently. They underwent bunker renovations and installed nice white sand bunkers throughout the course which adds a nice aesthetic. The course was in pretty good shape overall for October. They layout is quite forgettable though and I didn't leave the round feeling like I had a great golfing experience. To sum it up in a few words, it's a well-manicured, average Kansas City golf course. I'm not sure what it costs to be a member here, but hopefully it's reasonable for the golf that you get. We had a foursome play Sunday 8/2/15. This was a giant mess! Tournaments coming off 18 to number 1 with multiple starting teams waiting. Marshall's tried hard to help us and sent us off 15. We still waited for 3 groups after finishing our 4th hole(18). 9:16am tee time and we finished at 3:10pm. The snack shop said they didn't have any hotdogs ready after our 14th hole(9)...1:30pm. Then, at 3:20...they said they still weren't cooked! $3.25 for a gatorade and never saw the beverage cart once in the entire round.
