I have stayed hear twice and loved it both times. My first visit, I stayed in a cabin by myself to take some much needed time for a private personal mediation retreat. The cabin is clean and comfortable with air conditioning. To cook, do laundry, shower and use the toilet I used the nearby community barn that was also very neat and clean. The property is nestled in the Pisgah National Forest with the swiftly flowing Newberry Creek nearby. Here you can immerse yourself in nature by simply walking out the door.
On my second visit, my family and I stayed in the Master house. The house is beautifully appointed with natural trim and finishes, a comfortable and quiet setting. Lisa and Alexandro were available with answers to any questions and quickly addressed any problem we ran into. The location is a great hub to explore the NC mountains. We drove just 20 minutes to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway, a car with good clearance is recommended for the gravel roads, where my husband and son road their bicycles 13 miles to the Mt. Mitchel summit. I met them at the top after hiking the nature trail at the top of the mountain. While there can be a lot of people at the observation tower, I found that the nature trail was much less crowded and was magically peaceful with moss covered old growth trees. It was also easy to get to Asheville, about 45 minute drive, to visit our daughter who is attending college there. I am looking forward to going back for another personal retreat and to explore the area...
Read moreMy wife and I were married at Indigo Nature Retreat September 2019. We chose the venue because of the amazing pictures online, but when we arrived we were breathless. The pictures do not do justice to the true beauty of the retreat. The main cabin is gorgeous and I can tell that Lisa has an extreme attention to detail. The space is big enough to accommodate large parties, but still has a warm cabin feel. All of the micro cabins are just as nice, we had some concerns that they may be to small for our wedding party, but the beds are much bigger than they seem in the pictures and all of our guests said they slept like babies. We rented the venue for 4 days and having the extra kitchen in the barn was perfect for having multiple families sharing the space. Lisa is phenomenal! She has many years of experience in hospitality and it shows! She went above and beyond expectation to make sure we had everything we needed, and was available at a moment’s notice for any questions or concerns. She was onsite when we arrived and came back later to make sure everything was going ok which we really appreciated. The entire process from start to finish was so easy (and we were making plans for over a year). Lisa made us feel like family and we could not be more happy with our experience. We already have plans for another weekend at Indigo for our 5 year...
Read moreI didn't want to write this review because I'd rather this place be kept a secret but sharing this beautiful place with more souls is worth it I suppose! Lisa and her husband have created an incredible sanctuary here beside a gorgeous, fresh, rolling stream coming down from the mountain. My wife and I have been here twice. We stayed once in one of the cute little cabins, and the second time we stayed in the main house. The main house is absolutely divine, crafted by locally sourced furniture and decorations. The small cabins are such a great budget option. They have access to the yoga studio and the kitchen and (two) bathrooms underneath. The kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms make the cabins totally comfortable with all the things one might need to have a great stay. It is definitely like a glamping feel, and if you crack open on of the screened windows, you'll hear that wonderful stream... The energy of the place is truly special as others have said. My wife and I have had some really beautiful spiritual experiences here together, and we've also brought along our 2 year old once. We had to keep a good eye on her as she loves getting into trouble, but she absolutely loved it too! She still talks about the tiny cabin! Can't recommend this place enough. It's like Lisa was born to share sacred space like this...
