Linda's Seafood — Local services in Old River-Winfree

I went in the afternoon and picked up 3 sacks of crawfish, totaling 104lbs. I also bought a “5lb” bag of shrimp. Turned out to be just over 4, when I weighed it on my food scale. I didn’t notice the smell when I picked them up because of the pungent smell of the store. When I got home, I noticed the smell of the crawfish. I knew there were a good bit of dead. I immediately started sorting the dead crawfish. After I finished there were 61 lbs of dead crawfish. Being that I bought them late, when I called, it was after closing. I called the next day, at first I was told it wasn’t their problem. They couldn’t be responsible because I didn’t call the day I picked them up. I explained that I did call, but it was shortly after closing. Again, they refused responsibility. After arguing for a while, I explained that I didn’t want my money back, I just needed the crawfish. I even offered to bring in the dead crawfish. They refused to sell me any more crawfish and finally offered me a refund on the dead.

The first time I went, I paid extra for “purged” crawfish. As soon as I got them home and dumped them into my purger, the water got very dirty. Purged crawfish are supposed to be clean!

I went there for the first time since this place was highly recommended by several coworkers. Unfortunately, my experience was very much unlike what they described. Upon entering, I was given a look of "what are you doing here?". The same individual asked, "how many I help you?" I asked what do they have that's fresh (since I didn't physically see anything out except a few coolers). She bluntly said, "we have live crab, shrimp, and catfish." I don’t know if I’m just used to seeing what I’m paying for but they way it’s set up Is definitely different they weigh the seafood an only they can see the weight not the customer so your taking their word for what your buying.
