I chose this business because I wanted a better experience than David's Bridal and to support a local business. I am not sure what was going on, maybe they didn't like my face or something, but I don't understand why my experience is what it was.
I initially left a VM on their machine regarding my dress. Someone called me back and asked me to text them a picture, which I did. A few days later they called me back and I made an appointment.
I dropped my dress off a month before the wedding, which they said was plenty of time. They told me they would have it done October 31 (Wedding was Nov 3). I got pinned and left my dress.
I went on vacation and got a phone call, while I was on vacation, that my dress was ready. I made an appointment for the day I was back from vacation. Unfortunately, due to an incoming hurricane, my flight was very delayed and I had to cancel my appointment. Having returned from vacation, I had a hard time rescheduling, due to work conflicts and a hard time reaching anyone on the phone. Once I was able to connect with someone, I came in right away.
My dress was taken in MUCH more than it should have been. It was horrendous. We couldn't even zip it up, which was incredibly painful. The girl helping me went and talked to another person there, who I assume is the owner and said they would fix it (why would that even be an option? Of course they should fix it).
I came in the next day to pick my dress back up. It was still WAY too tight. I could barely breathe. They told me if I needed it fixed any further they would have to charge me- and they actually couldn't take it out anymore, since they trimmed it too much from the first time. I left with my dress, frustrated that they were so careless. Again, the owner was sitting RIGHT THERE. She never once looked at me, offered an apology, discussed anything with me- she never once in the times I was there even offered a friendly smile.
I wore my dress last weekend and it was incredibly painful. I was left with BLISTERS and BRUISES on my ribs, armpit area and breasts. I often felt faint from not being able to take a deep breath.
I paid $60 for this place to RUIN my dress and was never offered an apology. I would NEVER recommend anyone to take...
Read moreI went to Bella Jean for my wedding dress alterations. They quoted me an outrageous price (more than what I originally spent to purchase my dress). They worked with me to get the price down somewhat.... so I decided to let them do the alterations. When I returned for my first fitting I was outraged to find the dress in pieces and sewn incorrectly and unevenly on both sides. The dress pulled extremely hard on the left side and was no longer even when looking at it. Their hem job was uneven and they just hacked off the bottom. My dress included lace and they severely cut away the lace. It looked like a two year old did the job. All of the places were they sewed were bunched up and the quality was super poor. At the appointment the person who did the alterations wasn't even there so the lady was guessing at the work that had been done. Needless to say, the fitting appointment ended in tears because they ruined a dress that I absolutely loved. The worst part is their negative comments about my body and how the dress looked on me. Once I told them that I did not want them to do anymore work to my dress, they began to strip the dress of all of their alterations. To walk out of their shop with my dress, they required me to pay the rest of the alterations amount. I payed $900 for them to rip apart my dress and I walked away with my dress in pieces. I will never use this place again or ever recommend it. They caused me so much stress and money. I am extremely frustrated with how they handled the appointment. I was expecting them to make things right and be professional but they didn't. Be extremely cautious when talking your...
Read moreI honestly walked out of there very discouraged and I was taken back by how much money they were wanting from me. I was told they could hem my dress for $250-$300 and my dress is only two layers, one layer of satin and one layer of tulle. Total for everything I wanted done was estimated around $550-$600. I was asking for my straps to be tightened, lace added to my straps, a bustle to be added and for it to be hemmed. I was absolutely not prepared to spend that much on alterations, seeing that my dress was very close to that estimated price. ($720) Thankfully I found a different seamstress who was able to do everything as requested, plus some for $265. The seamstress I found charged me $50 for the hem, and about fell out of her chair when I told her how much Bella Jean was wanting to charge me for the hem. She said, and I quote that " your hem is one of the easiest hems I've seen in the last few months." basically, I feel like I was almost taken advantage of at Bella Jean. I'm thankful I did my research and found a different seamstress, all brides know things are already stressful enough when planning a wedding and getting your dress altered shouldn't be stressful. It should be a really happy and exciting event leading up to...
