Enjoyed shopping here until I was recently told by the staff at the gun counter I was stupid, for questioning their 20% markup over retail for a particular firearm. Tbh I'm indifferent to this, it was my later issue that really triggered me, but I'll outline my experience. Without getting into detail, anyone that knows who I am recognizes why that's a comically ignorant statement. For future reference N40 staff, MSRP is not a metric by which anyone on the planet uses to determine firearm values. If that we're the case I would be a millionaire.
I'd never attempt to get anyone in trouble, but if anyone else were treated the way the I was today, I don't forsee them being employed much longer. That's unfortunate because I was genuinely attempting to purchase a $2k firearm. Assuming that my "aSsUalT wEaPoN" certification was valid. Evidently N40 desires hard copies (literally the only LGS in the state), and is selective as to which certificates they'll accept. When I was discussing purchasing the staff essentially told me my certificate was invalid. Now I'm positive that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they provide the training; for a small fee of course, at other locations. Regardless, they are quintessential uneducated firearm fudd, and every question or concern I had was met with this patronizing condescendence. I'm genuinely indifferent if they're overpriced, but being lectured, and guilted over the most simple questions or observations really just turned me off to this business, and I'll never purchase a firearm from them again. I implore the entirety of the 2A community to take your business elsewhere, to people ther actually acknowledge your constitutional right.

But last night after going to 4 different stores looking for a heavy winter jacket I hit the jackpot at North 40 in Omak. It wasn't the jackpot in jacket options specifically, although there were several jackets, it was the customer service I received. I found one gal in woman's wear and told her I was looking for heavy jackets she kindly brought me to a rack. They were not what I was looking for so I continued on. I came across another associate who asked if I was finding everything okay. I told her well I was looking for a heavy winter jacket but with a ski like material not the puffy type. She explained a couple kinds of materials and said follow me. She took me over to some jackets that she thought I might be looking for and I was hesitant. She said I will be right back. She went around the store and collected several jackets in my size that she thought fit what I might be looking for and continued making trips back and forth with jackets. I was beyond impressed with her customer service. It has been a long time that I have experience this type of customer service and we were thoroughly impressed. Not to mention it was a younger gal and kids her age often time just don't know what it means to provide customer service like that! This was on the evening of 10/26 at about 6:30 and her name tag said Layla. I hope she gets recognition for what amazing service she provided. Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk. So. I don't know about North40 in general, but this store, Justin and Andy in particular, are rockstars. I cannot overstate how awesome they are.
Bought an expensive log splitter from them, had some issues with getting the wrong model, justin sent the replacement out that day, delivered an hour and a half from the store so I didn't have to drive back there. The replacement then seized within an hour of use. Justin then upgraded us to the top line product. Gave it to us at no cost. And generally made what was a very frustrating process into a breeze.
Any store can make a clerical mistake, or have a product fail. It is how they respond to those issues that sets them apart. How a company responds when things don't go perfectly is what determines if they are worth doing business with in the future. North40 Omak stands behind their products and goes above and beyond to support their customers.
They have earned my business for life. I'll drive 1.45 hours any day for the peace of mind that comes with their customer support.
