Nyssa Mercantile — Local services in Ontario

I've lived in Nyssa for over 3 years, getting supplies from this store, and these guys are awesome. The owners and employees are absolutely lovely and the customer service is always great. One thing I do find a tad bit annoying are their prices. I've bought bamboo garden sticks from these guys the last 3 years and they've always been a lot more than the competition, which I've always been happy to pay to support a local business. This last time I went in to buy some and found the prices were a bit comical. I went to buy these small (2 ft) bamboo trellis sticks that come in a bundle of 10, and the price was $19.99 for 1 bundle. I'm sorry but this is almost hilarious for little mostly broken sticks of bamboo that can't cost more than a few cents to harvest, treat, and ship. A storm just rolled through Nyssa and I would have LOVED those little sticks as I had a few plants get destroyed, but I couldn't bring myself to pay over a %1000 percent surcharge for some mostly broken tiny pieces of bamboo. Will be going to Home Depot in Ontario for my bamboo needs...

Nice little store, polite and helpful employees. Has well stocked and prices are in line with a small business but by the time I drive to Ontario I might as well support our local business that has quality brand name items. They have always been very helpful and when I have had to return something because it wasn't the correct size were very helpful with helping me find what I needed and refund me for the one I didn't. I'm a person with a compromised immune system. The woman in the garden center never wears her mask. A customer was going back to her car to get her mask and this clerk said "don't bother. We don't care. I have to wear one by state mandate but you don't. You don't need a mask." WHAT THE??? She actually teied to talk a willing persob out of safety protocol.
