I have had service with them for over 3 years. First year was great above posted speeds downhill since then as they have added customers and not added equipment to handle new customers. Internet speed tests have been well below the 74.95 plan with consistent drop offs as their equipment is obviously old and needs constant reboots to limp along. Bartnet is about half the price for same speeds with a much newer infrastructure with the industry standard unlimited data usage. Unfortunately their tower in skiatook is blocked by a mountain for me and bartlessville towers are to far away.. I called them on the weekend to see about service and got a answer on 2nd ring. Was so used to a answering machine for "after hours tech support " from atlas...amazed to find out other companies have full time answered customer support when you call just like expected. I can not tell you how many times I have called left a message and no response, when you finally reach someone they always say it is your equipment haha tower radios either work or not, you can run diagnostics on your WiFi router in house. Since the last storms internet is about 800 kbs up and 200 kps down.. would imagine lightening strikes took down some of their shielding and reduced their sectors available.. feel fortunate if you are on a tower that is not over capacity with this company.. if it feels slow do a Google search for internet speed test and run it to see how inconsistent it is. I really think they are more interested in computer sales and service. I got so frustrated I started reading wisp( wireless internet service providers) forums to find out what was going on...from my multiple ongoing problems for over 2 years I would say if there is another wisp in your area it...
Read moreAtlas was ok when we first got them. My biggest issue is when I accidentally forgot to make a payment for my Dec.1-Dec. 31, 2024 bill, I attempted to call their office to get it taken care of. When I hit send on placing the call it would ring once and then drop the call to where the call never went through. That happened 10 times. I went on their website and sent a message through the website to have someone reach out to me, but they never responded. So then I get hit with 2 months of no payment for month of Jan.1-Jan.31, 2025 and no way to contact someone. Then I get a message on Jan. 27, 2025 saying that service was to be disconnected on Jan. 29, 2025 and that they wanted their equipment back. I was ok with that as I was obtaining new service with a more reputable ISP. On Feb. 1, 2025, I received an invoice for 3 months of billing for Dec 2024 Jan. 2025, and now Feb 2025 yet I shouldn’t have been billed for Feb.1-Feb. 28 due to service being cut on Jan. 29. I go to reach out once again to set up a pick up time for their equipment and to discuss the bill, and still can’t get a call through to their office or even a response from their online message system. This is beyond ridiculous. How can I get this taken care of when I can’t get a call through to their office or get a response from their website...
Read moreMost of my encounters with the staff of Atlas Broadband have been good. Their field services are prompt as well as their over the phone assistance. Today, there was a billing issue. When I spoke to 'Chris' they explained nicely the particular detail couldn't be handled after hours, but was nice enough to help me figure out what to do and put a freeze on the account. I won't mention any company names, but the service that I get is better than some of the horror stories that I hear from friends who have used other services in rural areas. I have a moderate data plan and have been able to watch a live basket ball event, videos from a website, and chat online simultaneously. I honestly don't know how others can complain, I've seen nothing but good from this group. I also wouldn't trust any review that says this service can't do live events or real time video conferencing because I've done both, but not at the same time. This isn't a wired hardware service; this is a service for difficult to reach areas. This service is great for rural areas. Anyone who wants more than two live events needs to get where that kind of infrastructure is...
