I'm sorry. I honestly just didn't like it. Very few booths were garlic oriented. I didn't know what to expect, never having been there before. I think charging admission for this type of event is not necessary. The idea is to spend money at all the booths and support the local artists and food places. So to pay an admission on top of that makes it an expensive day out. And I understand the admission was discounted anyway this year. Everything was priced very expensively. Not sure I understand the whole holistic aspect of a garlic festival unless the garlic itself has healing properties. I think I'll pass on this event in the future.
October 12, 2024: I have an update....we went to the Bethlehem CT garlic festival today. It is light years ahead of the North Quabbin garlic festival. If the people that run the North Quabbin garlic festival go to this one in CT, maybe they can learn about what it takes to make a mediocre garlic festival into a much more top notch garlic festival for our area. One thing that we heard today is that every booth at the Bethlehem CT garlic festival has to have at least one garlic themed item to sell. The difference was astounding in a good way. I just wish that the North Quabbin festival organizers would do so much more!! There were so many more booths of everything!! It was really a much more pleasant garlic festival all around. Too bad it was such a long drive but once we were there, the day was worth it and fun!! That's what North Quabbin...
Read moreA great festival let me try to visit every year. Always a great selection of vendor food, an interesting vendors covering all types of products, plenty come with garlic for some surprise reason. I had the pleasure this year of sitting down with the family of a famous festival storyteller who goes back in the area for a very long long time. they told me about her stories that she would love to tell the children and she seemed like a very very special person. She passed away in the past 2 years and not even knowing your from hearing her family talked about her I miss her too. I can't seem to find my pictures that I took at the festival I'll try to add them later when I find them. Be sure to Google it and get the dates for next year and make it a point to make it out to the festival you won't be disappointed. Very fair price and very friendly, plan on spending the day or even the weekend and bring somebody with you you...
Read moreLots of vendors , a few good food shacks , and plenty of garlic and goods . It’s all overpriced , I understand making some money but the greed is rampant these days and people are getting ridiculous. Truly ridiculous. Won’t be back to this venue again , because we’ve decided to spend our time and hard earned money more wisely from now on. These Types of venues come a dime a dozen these days . If you look hard enough , you’ll find the ones worth going to . This was very much not one of those for us. I met three polite vendors . There were over 50 tents and I only noticed three decent , polite ones . Those are very poor odds . I will say , the fried dough shack had the best fried dough we’ve had in...
