Wolftown Mercantile Country Store — Local services in Orange

This is a great little country store. It's a very convenient location (especially for a gas station), there's nice people, and there's delicious food. The only problem is a pretty big one: this is a small town store that people go in, sit down, and shoot the breeze, which is totally fine, but the problem is that people are allowed to smoke inside of the store... which means if you have babies/kids, are pregnant, have asthma or some other health condition that effects your breathing, or are just concerned for your health in general (categories which all cover a bunch of individuals and potential customers) then this may not be where you want to stop at. The smell of smoke can be pretty overwhelming at times. It was also studied and found out that 3rd-hand smoke exposure (the smell of smoke on anything: products, clothes, shoes, bags, boxes, furniture, walls, etc.) is just as dangerous/deadly as 2nd-hand smoke exposure and/or smoking yourself. Like I said, it's a great little store, there just needs to be a "no smoking" policy...

I guess you have to be a local to get service at this place, because I tried to purchase some drinks but gave up after waiting for several minutes while the cashier completely ignored me and chatted with a friend and admired pictures of his new home renovation. I mean, it sounded like a nice home reno job, but based on the age of the products on their shelves, I was surprised they were willing to ignore a customer, since it didn’t seem to me like they could really afford to lose business. Based on the scathing look the unmasked cashier gave me before proceeding to ignore me completely, I can’t help but wonder if I received such poor service because I wore a mask into the business.
