Rancho Maria Golf Course — Local services in Orcutt

Rancho Maria is your average golf course in almost every way. They have okay food, an easy, fairly well kept course, and a healthy amount of players. However their service is far from average. It's awful. While most of their staff is about average one person stands out far below the rest. This wonderful person is Doug. Doug is the most unpleasant human being I have ever interacted with on a golf course. Doug works at the main desk at Rancho Maria and enjoys long walks on the beach, a good round of golf, and being a complete and utter jackass to anyone he doesnt believe to be familiar with Rancho Maria. I have been to Rancho a few times over the past five or so years and until my last visit, I was lucky enough not to have to deal with Doug. However, this time I was not so fortunate. Originally Doug seemed really nice. He joked with me and my friends while we paid for our rounds, but when he gave me my total it was significantly more than it usually is during their super twilight hours (after 4 PM). After asking for my receipt, I noticed that I had been charged for a full golf cart even though my friend had already paid for the cart himself. I asked why I had been charged for a full cart to which Doug responded to me by raising his voice and calling me incompetent before finally explaining that I was paying to be a passenger. He then angrily gave me my money back for the cart and told me to walk the course. This doesn't seem to be out of character for Doug as he charged the young men in front of me for renting a set of clubs after he found out that they were going to share clubs, which I have never seen any other clerk do. I won't be going back to Rancho and will instead opt to go to Blacklake or some other course and I would reccomend you do the same if you are a young player or someone who is...

Booked a tee time with cart on app. Drove 45 mins to course. Got there and they say they have zero carts available all day long. I told them that won't work for us and they said oh well. They are selling golf tee times on Golfnow app with cart when they have none available. I told the guy they need to contact golfnow to update their tee times to not include carts and he said they have nothing to do with that. I said yes you do golfnow won't list and post tee times that your course didn't give them permission to list for purchase so it is absolutely your courses responsibility to contact golfnow if what you have listed on their site isn't available. One bit and not happy I could tell the young guy behind the counter was not happy making the food you could hear him cussing under his breath the whole time every time someone ordered something or breakfast at 1:00 loved coming here with my grandpa before he passed and got hot dogs with everything on it and this is what I got he would be sad to see this and he used to love getting breakfast around one with me hope he's not working next time I go back the girl that took the order was the best part of getting the hot dog bob Garrett would not approve of this hot dog the young guy even pulled the girl from the back from getting drinks to take orders when he could have turned around and took an order after making horrible hot dogs hopefully she is working next time that's the only reason I will...
