We visited Hemphill Farm for the first time for our annual Christmas tree cutting tradition. Our usual tree farm was closed for the season. Their website was friendly and easy to use, with clear instructions, pricing, and FAQs. They are directly off Redland Road, easy to get to. Beautiful view of Mt Hood on the property. Big parking lot, lots of cars but people are always coming and going, found a spot easily. They graveled most of the area around the parking lot and barn, but if it has been raining lately, wear boots that can get muddy for walking through the trees. They have a sign right off the parking lot that says Start Here. They’ll give you the run down and offer you a saw and knee pad, or there are many ATVs running up and down the farm that will cut and haul your tree back to the barn for you. 8-9 ft Noble Firs were on one side of the property and smaller trees were on the left. Very dog friendly! Every activity is free. Free hay and tractor rides around the property. Free hot cocoa/coffee stand. Free photos with Santa inside the farm store. Lots of covered seating. Elephant ear stand for purchase. Lots of photo op spots. They shake and bail your tree and leave it in a covered pickup stall with your last name on it, until you are ready to go. Pay for the tree inside the farm store. Lots of treats and presents available to buy. There was never a long line, great and fast customer service. The tree handlers even carried our tree to the car and attached it to our roof. Will definitely be coming...

I choose this tree farm because they posted specific COVID safety measures requiring distancing and masks on their website. When I went today not only did staff interacting with customers not have masks on, but they were not enforcing other customers to wear masks nor was it easy to social distance in the main tree processing area.
I understand perhaps having more lax enforcement out in the field when cutting down a tree, but at 10am it was already busy in the main area and a majority of the staff either didn’t have masks on or they were wearing them incorrectly not covering their mouth and nose. Additionally, 50% of the customers weren’t wearing masks and there was no one enforcing the safety measures. Lastly, staff helping haul in trees from the field either didn’t have masks at all or were wearing them incorrectly.
At a time when Oregon cases are their highest, I’m disappointed that there was such a disregard for the safety...

Thank you Jacob and Chelsea for taking such great care of my little family. The farm felt so warm and welcoming. Jacob shook the tree, bailed the tree and helped us tie the tree down to our car! There were tons of types of trees, sizes of trees and some of the trees are painted different colors!!! Blue, pink, white, purple and more!!! The inside of the barn is the most adorable gift shop ever with warm drinks inside! Decor, ornaments, wreaths, honey, merch and other things inside!!! We had such a lovely time walking the trees and smelling the fresh scent of pine! I would highly recommend picking your tree at Hemphill Farms!
