**DISCLAIMER the store is located inside the owners home! Don't let this deter you; simply walk up and knock!*** I had an incredible experience at Jim's! My review is long but worth reading, especially because I like to consider myself an avid gemstone collector, so the details will likely be very helpful! I have spent a great deal of time in 100s of different specialty stores from SL to moab, and even to many places from the route down through Colorado and New Mexico. With all that in mind, I can confidently say that hands down, Jim's is the number one best place I've ever purchased stones from!! The two most important things that made me feel this way were the INCREDIBLE PRICES and the way the owner reacted towards my kids. 99% of the time, I walk into a spiritual store or specialty store, with four kids (1 of which is 2yrs old!) I immediately get dirty looks, loud sighs, or employees approaching me w some ridiculous thing to say: "kids aren't allowed/make sure they don't touch anything/if you break if you buy it/this isn't really a kid friendly place" etc etc. Then, they continue to treat us poorly despite my kids proving in the first 10 mins that they're extremely well behaved. It's so off-putting and often makes me never return. But Jim didn't seem phased by my big crowd of kiddos and never once seemed bothered by my sometimes grabby toddler. I was a bit worried that it would be awkward shopping in a home but i was wrong. The vibes were perfect. The store is located in one small room of the house, but it's so well organized and set up that I spent way longer in there than I anticipated because there were soooo many stones and gems! I was there for over an hour and easily could have spent two more hours just seeing everything he had. Another reason this is the best place to visit is that he has a vast number of different stones, likely at least one of every single one known to man, and there was a huge selection of different variations of each stone, multiple forms, tons of different hues, different geological locations, and different cuts/styles/sizes. The selection available far surpassed any other place I've ever been to. If you're looking for something specific you haven't been able to find elsewhere, I bet you will find it here. He was very kind also and answered many questions that I've feared asking other retailers about because they get rude and/or defensive. He didn't ever seem bothered by my millions of questions and He was very honest and upfront about everything, even sharing many of todays gimicks, scams, and sales tactics, and he wasn't anything like a pushy salesperson. The coolest part was that he was a double major in MD and psychology, and he fully believed and vetted the metaphysical/healing/spiritual properties behind gem stones. He also taught us the science behind many of the beliefs that we have attached to each stone, and how western medicine came from the ancient beliefs, such as how celestite is genuinely a calming stone because it has traces of lithium in it. his jewelry was all handmade and extremely beautiful. No stupid boring wire wrapped stones like you see everywhere else. Most of the styles he used were timeless and won't ever go out of fashion (but there was many peieces that paid homage to many eras that are popular today such as the 20s, 50s and 90s) and each piece was crafted in an advanced, high quality way. Lastly, as i mentioned before the prices were INCREDIBLE!!!! Many were 50-90% below current market and a huge percentage were priced at cost because Sadly, he is beginning his retirement and no longer doing shows. But even without that factor causing him to discount, the original full prices were 20-40% below market! I've included a bunch of pictures that frankly don't do the place justice and I'll be sure to include more each time I go back. It's 10000x worth the visit!

I Googled crystal shops and this one pulled up that I hadn’t been to before. Jim is very friendly and knows a lot about the various crystals and rocks that he has. Great selection and great price. Will be back again!

Jim was absolutely wonderful! He has a wealth of knowledge and explained his process of procuring the gems and crystals he has in his shop. He has a large inventory of different stones. I came in specifically for Moldavite and he had a good amount of pieces for me to choose from. I particularly liked that he allowed me to hold them in my hands so I could properly choose the one that worked for me. I'm a quiet woman but I loved how cheerful and talkative he was. It made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. His prices are based on quality and it's very apparent that he loves what he does and has the knowledge to back it up. He is certainly someone I will see again when shopping...

I know absolutely nothing about rocks, stones, crystals, or anything of this nature. But my friend does, and I wanted to get her something for her birthday. I googled where to go and that's when I found Jim's Gems! I went here with my 4 year old daughter, and not only did I love my experience, my daughter did too! Jim helped us find some cool gifts, and he taught us so much about the things we were curious about! He also makes BOLO TIES which I wasn't expecting at all but is so exciting! I came here to get a gift for my friend, but left with a gift for my friend and myself and I will 100% be back soon! Both Jim, and his business, are...
