Where to begin… we called the day before and made a 10:30am tee time but when we got there at 9:45am our group wasn’t in the system and the 10:30 tee time had been taken. We had arrived early to hit range balls but never got the chance as we were forced to tee off around 10am. And oh boy the fun was only just beginning. The pictures speak for themselves but the course was in rough shape to say the least. The rough and bunkers were infiltrated with weeds, the greens were bare in some spots and generally beat up, and the cart paths were falling apart and scattered with pot holes. Oh and be sure to bring bug spray because the flies out on the course are relentless. Last thing I would mention is that the course is very bumpy which made riding around the course feel like an unwanted rollercoaster ride. This truly was a bad experience from start to finish. Do not fall for the pictures on the website.

A little rough around the edges but the Donald Ross design doesn't disappoint. Fair off the tee, greens are in great shape. The breaks are there daring you to play all that break. The staff are very helpful and welcoming to wandering golf types.

What a wonderful venue. And the staff were so helpful and kind. They hosted a fundraiser for The Purple Iris Foundation and donated as well.

My wedding took place at the Penobscot Valley Country Club on 11/6/21. It was an absolutely magical day. The venue itself is gorgeous with the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. We were able to use the facilities all day long to get ready, which was important since we had a large wedding party and accompanying guests. Christine was with us every step of the way. Having her there gave us peace of mind. We didn't have to worry on the day of because we knew Christine would make sure everything went smoothly and she really did. Clean up was organized by Christine and her crew. Everyone was very professional, polite, and pleasant to interact with. The food was also delicious (the bread was soooo good) and many people brought home their leftovers. I highly recommend them as a wedding venue or for any large event as Christine and everyone else there was lovely...

Had our wedding here, hands down one of the best decisions we made in the planning process! Christine was an absolute treasure, such a valuable asset in the planning process! Great ideas and suggestions about how to save money overall with the wedding, how to make it about us with favors and centerpieces, etc. She was wonderful! Chef Dave made special dinners for special diets, so incredibly thoughtful! The rest of the staff were amazing! Gail and Mary Kate were excellent servers that night, too. Hubs can't wait for his free...
