Hubbard Lake General Store — Local services in Ossineke Township

I’ve come to the General Store throughout the years and have had the same experience each time— consistently rude staff, never greeted, let alone with a smile, always feel like I’m inconveniencing them if I have a question. Maybe it’s because I’m not a regular, maybe it’s because I’m young, but regardless I felt the need to leave this review, because the customer service is poor. Store is dirty, floors are sloping and merchandise is often in disarray. Haven’t been in the store since I was 18. Worked there with Dave Diamond, mostly, for a summer. Grew up in HL and parents owned Carl’s Restaurant from 1964-1974. Was in HL a year and a half ago as a day trip and took my g’kids with me. They had a great time seeing where G’ma grew up. Seems like people love the store. As a kid, I bought a lot of Bazooka Bubble Gum and other candy that I had cashed-in from beer bottles I collected from the local ditches.
