OK, this is going to get long, so if you want to know why i didn't like my visit- it's because a blonde saleswoman tried to cheat us multiple times by outright lying to our faces about the products and options that were available to us. Long story below.
We walked in at 11am to order an apartment sized dishwasher (no more than 18" wide). Knowing our product wasn't a normally sold product, we expected there to be no products to physically see or touch in the store, so we did some googling. We found a few products that were within our ideal price range and sold by baron's all over. So we went to the store, knowing generally what price range we'd be looking at- around $400 for the product itself, minus the hardware needed, delivery, installation and removal of the old product.
We lead into the conversation with "We're searching for an apartment dishwasher, and we'd like to talk about your cheaper models first. The blonde saleswoman typed the search in her computer and waited for the results to come back. When the results came back, she lead off her end of the conversation with a product that was listed at $750 without hardware, install, removal or delivery charges. We knew $750 wasn't the cheapest dishwasher they had available to us, because we had googled it before we went. So we told her we already looked and saw products WAY below that price range and she starts mentioning a couple other brands she "Noticed" after I reminded her cheapest first. While reviewing these products, she mentions one in particular and states; "I didn't mention this one because YUCK I hate selling those to people." At which point, she lost all credibility with me. I asked for cheapest first, not your preferences first. THEN when we start discussing models that are actually in our price range we start asking about the free delivery special. She replied that "You'll need to purchase $400 or more of in store products, the delivery fee isn't waived if you purchase installation." Basically telling me, that we NEED to spend at least $400 on the dishwasher and hardware we purchase. The installation fees, and taking the old product fees were not to be included towards the total for qualifying for free delivery. I said that doesn't make much sense, and asked to see that written down, she couldn't supply that information and so we decided to leave the store and do more of our own research because at this point we may not know what dishwasher we're going to get, we do know it's not going to be through this woman's responsibility that we get it.
The next day (today) I called another Baron's and asked about the situation. We were apologized to, and assured that she was wrong at every point of our brief interaction. We then decided to do our business with that Baron's as it gave me peace of mind that the blonde saleswoman at our local Baron's would get no credibility for the sale, but we'd still get our dishwasher.
After we ordered our product from Concord, we called the Ossipee store back and asked to speak to a manager about this situation. I was put on with their fairly new at the store manager, Mark. Mark was also very professional and very apologetic for what had happened. He assured me that "Actions would be taken" but in this day in age that could mean anything and offers me no REAL peace of mind. So I'm leaving this story for you, the consumer. I have no hate towards Baron's or Mark. But if you're going into this store and there is a blonde saleswoman trying to help you (Mark won't give me her name, but mentioned she's the only blonde woman salesperson there.) You should either wait patiently for another salesperson, or have your homework done and prepare to catch her lying to you for her own personal gain (as I was able to confirm today that they do get kickbacks from some brands for selling their products) and to lie about the delivery fee stuff was out of control. She did that to convince us to look at more expensive models so she got her kickbacks. If you're her and reading this, I hope you never forget this experience...
Read moreMy old ,outdated side by side fridge decided to take its final breath recently leaving Me in a bind looking for a reliable replacement with a decent warranty and service plan. I've known about Baron's for some time now but was skeptical that they would have anything in my budget due to being know for selling the top names in high end appliances. I had the pleasure of meeting, and working with Thaddeus, one of the floor sales people at Baron's Ossipee,NH store.
Thad walked me through a few brands and models of new refrigerators, all while being mindful of my budget, features I desired and urgent need of a prompt replacement which led to my purchase of a new whirlpool unit along with Baron's own extended service plan.
From the start to the decision on delivery date, my experience was nothing but positive, pleasant and painless.
The pros: store locations in areas I frequently travel, factory educated and knowledgeable sales people, flexible delivery scheduling, and a service plan which shows Baron's stands behind what they sell.
The cons: not giving Baron's a chance sooner (that's on me )
Thad, and your Ossipee team, thanks for making what's usually a tedious, sometimes downright dreadful experience quick, easy, and hassle free. !!
EDIT: today was fridge delivery day, and I couldn't be happier! The delivery driver and his helper were awesome, respectful of our home, kind to the appliances, and helped me move the old unit to storage in my garage. I'm thankful for their diligence in measuring the opening for the fridge multiple times. A 30 plus year old condo sometimes things aren't as Square as they should be after the building settles. . I signed off on a successful delivery, and I'll do my thing to make it fit where it's supposed to.
Once again thanks to Barons for their wonderful experience from...
Read moreWe had an exceptional experience in the purchase of three appliances from Joyce at Baron's in Ossipee. When we went to Baron's in Ossipee and met with Joyce on Friday the 15th, she promised our refrigerator by the following Wednesday. It arrived, as promised, on the 20th, and was installed. We also got our dishwasher that day, and our stove today, the 26th, less than 2 weeks since our first meeting with Joyce. We are extremely happy with the service she gave us, determining which appliances would meet and exceed our needs.
In terms of the delivery and communications from Baron's, they were extremely proactive. We were told that we would receive an email the day before with the window of time that the appliances would be delivered. We got email and text. On the days of delivery, we received continuous updates as to where we were in the queue; how far away the driver was; and when we could expect them at our door. We could track the truck. Communications are at the heart of a successful business. The young men who delivered and installed the appliances were polite and respectful of our home.
We highly recommend Baron's. They have many showrooms around the state, but we can say with certainty, that Joyce in the Ossipee store provides incredible service and knowledge about the products that Baron's sells.
In contrast to this, when our fridge died on Labor Day, we went to an independent dealer down the street, who promised a new fridge by October 15th (why? we wanted a white one..) On the 15th we were told Hallowe'en. On Hallowe'en we were told they didn't know when it would come, and to go somewhere else. And in each case, we had to instigate the inquiry - they never reached out to us pro-actively.
Baron's had loads of white appliances in stock. I wish I had known about...
