Tulsa International Airport is my go-to regional airport for flying out of Northeastern Oklahoma. I specifically book early flights to avoid crowds and wait times in line. When you arrive between 4-5 AM it is nearly a straight walk-through with TSA. They usually flow effortlessly. I especially like that they no longer require you to remove electronics from bags or luggage when going through screening. This has sped up the process so much quicker as well. However, I will point out I wear a medicine bag necklace for cultural purposes and they flag me every single time for it. If I try to take it off and put it through the scanner with my bags or luggage, they'll have me put it back on and wear it around my neck. So when going through the full body detector, the medicine bag will register on the screen and a TSA agent will pull me to the side to inspect it. They have never been rude or have demanded it be open. I let them know I fly with it everywhere and this is a regular occurrence. But it does get me a thorough pat down on the chest area every single time at TUL. I just make sure to factor this delay into my timing schedule. It has never been a real issue just a nuisance. Other airports typically don't even question it. Maybe that goes to show TUL is on point with safety. Overall, I think Tulsa International Airport is a great facility. It has several small restaurants to eat from, Chili's included. There is a bar, little convenience stores, typical airport gift shops and even some vending machines. If flying in or out of TUL be sure to check out the Native American cultural showcases they keep in display cabinets. It is my favorite. Safe travels to all!

I wish I could have given this airport zero stars! The airports don't care about the people like they used to. I don't care what anyone thinks of my comment here, I'm just gonna say it, I hate this airport so much!!! This is the worst airport I've ever been in, in all my years of traveling!!! Tulsa International Airport came up with stupid rules they know would hurt people. When I found out all those unfair rules, I didn't want to go but I didn't have a choice because I was with my mom, so I had to go even if I didn't want to! Before, you could be offered a drink and a snack for free, now the airlines decided to charge on drink and snacks. My mom used to be able to carry her purse on her lap like anyone could do on an airplane, now you have to put your purse under the seat and maybe keep it there the entire time! Long ago, you could take anything you needed such as face soap or toothpaste, now these days, you can't even take that with you anymore except in small pathetic tiny sizes! If all the airports and airlines are this stupid and unfair today, this airport was so much worse than any airport I've been to! Yeah, rules are rules, but the stupid rules that airport had was just totally ridiculous!!!! This airport and the airlines show a big disgrace against Tulsa and on everyone that comes here! Really small airport and easy to get to, huh? But turns out to be a popular small airport I hope should lose people someday! Just cause everyone might like this airport doesn't mean I have to, and if I can help it, I hope I never have to come back again if I visit Tulsa again! I hope the Tulsa International Airport know how bad an airport they are and their service really stinks, and I'm sorry if I ever have to come back again to suck up to all the unfair new...

This is a really nice airport. When you finally get there. The ramp over 169 to 244 to Hwy 11 is a mine field to say the least. Dark, dangerous and bumpy is the only way to describe that. Not in the airport area of responsibility, but definitely the City and airport could influence the escalation of maintenance if they cared to do so. Hwy 11 into the airport is being worked on, so I will forgive for the moment the lack of adequate lighting. What I won’t forgive is the signage on the road providing street names and exit information. At 5 in the morning, those signs are unreadable since they have lost all their reflectivity. When was the last time those were updated? Really people, this is the front door to our City and why shouldn’t it glisten and glean to promote the image we all talk about wanting to have. This certainly does not do that!

So, once you get there, nice check in facilities, great security and good food if that ONE place is open and able to respond in a timely manner to the orders. Passing through that, gate areas are nice and personnel are great. Then, you can get on your CONNECTING flight to go somewhere. We fly to Seattle a lot and have to drive to OKC to get a DIRECT flight To Seattle. Why does OKC have one and Tulsa does not? More image issues!

The City and Airport Authority need to place more priority on upgrading the choices and facilities and enhancing the image and accessibility of our front...
