THE WORST PET STORE.
This place is run down and dirty. I feel sorry for every live animal in this place.
There are betta fish in a cup of water each, on the counter by the register. Not only are these tiny cups too small, but they added a fake plant too. So, even less space. One had MAYBE an Inch of water. It looked dead to be honest. I picked it up and said it needed attention. The woman employee said they can live like that. What a great way to show customers how to keep these fish: THE worst way possible.
"The absolute minimum tank size for a healthy betta is 2.5 gallons with the recommended size being 5 gallons or more. Larger tanks are easier to maintain nitrogen cycles and temperature and require less frequent cleanings. One of the biggest myths regarding bettas is how they can live just fine inside a tiny bowl or vase. To put this into perspective, you could live survive inside a tiny wooden box too if given food and water right? You wouldn’t be very happy or healthy though.
In the wild, the betta splenden lives in shallow oxygen-deficient streams, rice paddies, and puddles, but many of these areas are still expansive in water volume. Your betta needs room to swim around and places to hide. Plus you’ll enjoy him or her that much more if they have ample space to put on a show."

I had to leave immediately. Just one example of what I saw. I could go on.
DO NOT BUY ANIMALS HERE. Do not shop here.
I would never board here or have any animal...
Read moreThey had hamsters in a tiny cage together, bettas in fish bowls, and birds in a very small, dirty cage that they didn't have enough room to fly in
The staff is always really nice but it's obvious nobody here has done research on the animals they keep and just use them for profit
Hamsters can and will fight to the death when put together, it isn't natural and even in the wild they avoid each other. They have no benefit from being together and it's extremly risky. Those cages aren't even big enough for one hamster, let alone two.
Bettas need heated and filtered water, putting them in bowls is arguably worse than putting them in cups because it encourages people to put them in bowls at home, whereas the cups are obviously temporary.
And I feel like the bird thing is pretty obvious. even if that cage was a temporary thing it shouldn't have been as...
Read moreI personally have been coming here since I was a child around 1987. I absolutely love EACH time I got to visit ALL the pets (my parents came for the fish!). Even now as an adult I love coming here. Every worker that I have ever encountered was so friendly, helpful, and patient. A very cozy shop with little cuties of all kinds and accessories galore at amazing prices. The prices are quite competitive. I have bought a few critters from here over the years, and every one of them have been healthy and had long lives. I'll continue to shop local here for all...
