I may not agree with everything they stand behind but, the lovely gentleman that was running the place that day couldnāt have been more wonderful. We were able to TALK not argue!! Love that! Iām also a very proud southerner yet somehow Iām pretty open. Democrat even! I was NOT made to feel anything but welcome. Even exchanged phone numbers with the gentleman. We spent about $200 there that day and thatās only cuz we had to go. Itās a long trip to Tampa! We bought the most amazing Southern Cross bathing suit for my model daughter, a Bowie knife in the most gorgeous leather sheath and two EXTREMELY well kept, loved and socialized bunnies! Nowā¦theyāre totally spoiled! I HIGHLY recommend this road side store. Highly intelligent, reasonable people and custom leatherwork beyond compare. I will be ordering a custom holster. You really need to check those out! GORGEOUS! Anyway, I will never pass through Bama again without stopping there. Hellā¦might even be a destination. Be sure to stop by there no matter where you stand. Thereās something there for you. I promise. Plus, youāre absolutely welcome no matter...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is alittle off the highway, just follow the signs till you see this shop. It's definitely, 100% worth the stop. Please keep prejudice to yourself and respect the people working their. Tiffany was great, super fun to talk to, great stories, and the store had everything. From hard to find Portraits of Civil War Generals, to stickers, belt buckles, hats, shirts, concealed carry purses, to Zippos and everything in between. Just stopped for a quick glance and ended up dropping 80 bucks on stuff but Tiffany was the best part. Before we knew it a hour passed and we were sad to leave. My only complaint is we live in Tuscaloosa and it's a decent drive to get there but anytime we pass this store we are stopping in.
Once again a great store, great prices, and even better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is exactly what it says it is, a Dixie General Store containing no rations or vial necessities. However, they do have a unique selection on gear advocating the Confederate States of America and secession. Curiously, I investigated more to learn my very own state, Georgia, voted 43-1 in 2009 to nullify some federal laws. In 2017, a poll suggested 68% of Anerican's are open to secession, which I found to be very surprising. The visit was a off beat opportunity to talk to my children about the movement and realize the feelings and struggles such as this are real. The folks running the shop were super nice and printed a t-shirt for me while I waited on short notice. I highly recommend this shop if you are exploring old world Hwy 285 between Cullman...
