Starwood Pet Resort — Local services in Oxford

Would highly recommend. Staff and owner are very caring and professional. There was quite a large misunderstanding between myself and my emergency contact which resulted in our dog being picked up a full day early with no notice to the starwood staff. This was 100% the fault of my emergency contact and I was impressed with how professionally it was handled. My dog lulu was well cared for during her 3 day stay and there was no valid reason for her to be picked up early. She had a great time playing with the other dogs. Starwood staff communicated with me quickly after the misunderstanding occurred. They went above and beyond to help me get to the bottom of this misunderstanding between myself and my emergency contact. I was impressed with how they were able to stay cool and calm with what could have turned into a very stressful situation. After the surprise early pickup they were quick to email me my final invoice. I was prepared to pay for an extra day stay as it was 100% my emergency contact's fault that our dog left early but they did not charge a penalty for the early pickup. The owner's largest concern was that our dog was safe and well cared for, not getting paid for an extra day for an unexpected early departure. I am truly grateful for Starwood pet resort for taking care of my lovely Ginger cat when i was a way. I am very thankful for the staff and especially Nathan and Finny who sent me daily updates and pictures that really eased my anxiety. It was my first time leaving my feline friend in a pet resort and to add to that, he had blood in his stool same day of resort drop off so i had to take him to the vet before dropping him off at the resort. As you can imagine my worry and anxiety grew double and leaving for my vacation was not easy. However i am incredibly thankful for Starwood who took amazing care of my boy in regards to food, medicine but also cuddled and played with him in addition to providing me with daily updates. Again i am especially grateful for Nathan and Finny who went above and beyond to ensure Ginger is happy and i am at ease and in the know. I wish they were more people like them! Honestly They deserve 0 stars but I was required to put 1, I don't understand how this place is 4.7 stars. It smells horribly, the staff doesn't seem like they care at all that pets are there and my dog came home with kennel cough AFTER getting the medicine before being left in their care, not to mention the fact she seems completely spooked by everything since coming home. She won't eat by herself, or go-to the bathroom alone, and when we picked her up we were told she was moved away from other dogs because she was barking to much, SHE DOESN'T BARK AT ANYTHING, and when my partner and I called during our vacation to check in (because we were anxious the entire trip after seeing the state of the place) the person who answered seemed more interested in getting us off the phone rather than easing our nerves this place is trash and needs to...
