Since opening last year, I've frequented Thomas Mercantile several times, drawn by its proximity—just a 15-minute drive from home—and the refreshing departure it offers from the usual spots in Preston. The atmosphere, curated by the delightful ladies who run the place, exudes warmth and familiarity, making every visit a pleasure. Today, I indulged in their special: a tomato soup paired with a chicken salad sandwich. Both were delectable, but the tomato soup stole the show—truly the epitome of perfection. It's safe to say, it's the best tomato soup I've ever had! Thomas Mercantile isn't just about exceptional food; it's a treasure trove for pantry essentials, local meats, treats and unique gifts. It's the kind of place you stumble upon and instantly feel grateful for discovering. I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem—it's a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and gift hunters alike.

Absolute favorite store on the whole planet! First off, the owner is just plain kick ass, she's so chill. The staff is excellent, and very helpful. Then there's the Merc Burger 🍔 🤤 even if you're not hungry. Stop and get a double. You won't regret it. There's also a PLETHORA of just random items, that are very thought out. From USB adapters to fishing tackle. They've got Harry Potter and they've got fidgets. Knives and rings are beautiful. I could go on and on, but I'll leave you with this awesome collection of games you can play there. GO CHECK IT OUT 😁

This historic store has been extensively remodeled with modern conveniences. The kitchen is almost ready, so the store will be offering lunches soon. Fun location with lots of Idaho souvenirs and memorabilia, from local foods to clothing. I’m very glad I visited!

I absolutely love going into this little store with my boys. Both times they have been so excited to see the brick walls because they appreciate the historical structure of the building. They also enjoy smelling all the different soaps candles and lotions. Their favorite thing that they discovered is the penny candy so they brought their piggy banks just get a bag full of candy for less than a dollar. Im excited to shop there for Christmas gifts and since Christmas is right around the corner im expecting that its going to look amazing during...
