Last night was my first time at this particular raceway... let me tell you my experience at 5 months pregnant on 9/27. We paid $20 per adult, we had 6 adults in our group. We signed the little waiver whatever. Little girl at the front told us we were to park on the same side as the spectator entrance so we did. And moved down to the finish because it was a backwards race night. There was no fencing other than the railing where we were. And the area was mowed. We were lined up with other vehicles. The races had already started, and an employee, came and told us we had to back up so many feet from where we were parked or go to the other side (which upon finding out later, if we went to the other side we would've been even closer to the track, in a more dangerous area during vehicles taking off but I digress). We moved our vehicles and then asked the guy, if the concession stands were open because the one on our side of the track next to the bathrooms were closed. And he said yes, there is FOOD on both ends of the other side of the track. So us 6 adults and 3 kids 45 minutes in, decide to walk all together, go ahead and do bathrooms and food. I get into the bathroom, thank God another girl was in there with me, NO TOILET PAPER. We get headed over to the largest concession stand closest to us, and the lady says "we aren't selling hot food, if you want hot food, you need to go to the opposite end of the drag." No food... after we were told food would be at both ends of the track. We ended up walking a total of 2 miles to get food with kids 8 and under. By the time we got to the end with the food, cash only (were not advised at any time) and they only had hamburgers chips and soda. No condiments or anything. Out of every other option. My kids and I will eat whatever but at this point I'm irritated because I'm 5 months pregnant, my crotch hurts, my lower back is on fire, every golf cart and race track on the same path we had to walk isn't slowing down for my kids to be able to get off the path, but then there is no where to walk for little unstable feet, because of rocks or mud. And then let me reiterate by the time we got back we didn't have hot food, there was nothing remotely enjoyable about it. But if I had the opportunity to drink anything with that salty hamburger, I would've had to pee, so that would've been another half mile of walking. But not at 1 time was any of the staff helpful, on the same page, or knowledgeable about what the current state of the park was or what other departments were doing or had changed. OH AND WE GET BACK TO OUR TRUCK, remember that we had to move? And there was burrier set up by the tall grass. And cars parked where we were told to move from. And the same guy driving right past them on the four-wheeler. When you own a business, you look to serve. We were not served. Walking- is whatever, but that much walking for 2 $10 hamburgers, with 3 kids with people paying no mind to children while driving any kind of vehicle, at 5 months pregnant? NOPE. I won't be back. I'll drive the 2 hrs to MoKan. Oh, and no announcements- we had no idea what...
Read moreI have been going for years. I have always enjoyed the time spent there watching the burnouts, the races and just walking around looking at the cars. My husband and I went for the diesel and supposed rat rod drags on August 9th We were both extremely excited about watching and just overall having a good time We both had been looking forward to it for weeks. We were EXTREMELY upset, let down and massively disappointed in the way everything was handled. Only very minimal announcing of the cars before they raced, never saw ANY rat rods race, the burnouts were on the opposite parking lot from where we were. We had already setup where we were at and would have had to of taken everything down, put it away, and locked things up, just so we could walk over to the other lot where the burnouts were. I thought yhey always did the birnout competitions down by the tree signal, just before goong down the track. Announcer had no idea what was going on, there was more of a crowd than expected (not our fault, obviously), but we certainly had to practice a lot of patience due to the fact there were so many people lined up to get in. So they kept delaying the start time. They have posted NO REFUNDS, as you drive in to pay, right? Regardless, last night was DEFINITELY a refundable night. It WAS NOT worth the $40 total we paid for. I have NEVER experienced anything so pathetically mishandled in all the time I have gone. The test & tunes we went to recently had better races, announcements and just exhibited an all around professionalism. One last thing...even after all the, 'we weren't expecting this big of a crowd, ' announcements, when we were ready to leave, we found ourselves unable to leave because the gates on the left side of the tracks were closed and locked. Because of our disappointment, we left early and found ourselves having to drive right in front of people in the stands, and then had to cross the pit lanes, where the racers FINALLY let us go through, just so we could leave. Yet the people in charge knew there was a lot of people attending, (hence the multiple announcements they made stating as much) and all the many cars parked on both sides. Those gates on our side should have been open so we could leave easily without having to cause...
Read moreBut what I want to know before I come racing. From little rock. Is the employees able to keep all the spectators off the starting line? And where their not on the starting line their standing next and on the concrete walls? Do the fans and spectators stand behind the fence and up in the bleachers? Where their supposed to be. Is this an actual '1320ft long quarter mile track? Im not a crazy fanatic of 1/8 mile & 1000' racetracks. Ill street race before i dare even think of going to one of those 2 tracks. Street racing is where I learned to race anyway. Lol. Does this racetrack stay up to date and modernize? Does it have good honost hard working employees? How do they treat & speak to their fans and spectators? Loyal, caring, and respectful? And is this racetrack centered/focused around bracket racing? I'm more of the headsup racing type. I like racing the car setting next to me....
