I have had the worst waitress I have had at any restaurant ever, and that’s coming from a waitress. We first sat in kimmy’s (sorry if I didn’t spell it right, I only heard the name from the people who were with me) section, she was wonderful. Then we had one more person in our party so we had to move to another table. Worse decision ever! So I’m guessing we moved to another sections with Nancy in it. Let me tell you this lady had the worse attitude ever, like she hated her job. We order and wanted to split the appetizer three ways. As we asked kindly if we could she said “that’s not how this works”. Um yes it does. You have a tablet and we have dusty computer and know how to split a item. You never give a customer that attitude period. The group I was in, was all waitresses and cooks so when she said that, we were shook and furious. We let it go, until our appitizers didn’t come out for 20 minutes. We ordered chips and cheese dip. Not to mention the lovely kimmy was refilling our drinks and asking if we were still doing good. While Nancy stuffed her face behind the bar. That was absolutely disgusting, feed your face without the public seeing. Or even eat before your shift. Also there was a man at the bar to which was so disrespectful for him to go through that. While we were eating our chips we noticed nancy wiping tables with a white rag with black all over it. Throwing it over her shoulder when bringing a table there food. How disgusting! Wash your hands lady, no one wants your dirty finger against there plates. After we ate our food and got terrible service with a matching attitude to go with it. Also, the stares I was getting from Nancy are unbelievable. Nancy did not ask if we were doing fine, did not refill our drinks (she sat a water pitcher down when only two of the six were drinking it, but the soda drinkers did not get a refill from her), gave us the worst attitude, and clearly needs to be let go. The tables around us was even talking about how bad her service was. I order the sunrise I think, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash brown, and biscuit and gravy. My eggs had black under them, I’m guessing from the pan they cooked them in but wasn’t washed before. I don’t know how they became BLACK though. I am not one to complain about food because I know not every day is a good day but I could not eat them. In total my meal was 30 dollars, money down the drain. Nancy messes up on the bill and says “damn it” then walked away. Customer service 101 do not cuss in front of the customers. Spilts it the wrong way I’m guessing. Nancy you did not get a tip from me and I know how it is making nothing a hour and depending on tips. But if your not going to treat me with respect like I am you, you will not get one. But kimmy, thank you for stepping up when your coworker failed, thank you for refilling our drinks and bringing us our food, and thank you for caring when no body didn’t. This review is only reflecting on how bad nancy did and how wonderful kimmy did. Kimmy, you are a wonderful waitress and I am so sorry you have to not only do your job but nancy’s as well. If I was a higher management, I would train nancy again or fire her. Thank you Nancy for driving away costumers from your establishment. I hope one day you can change your attitude, and Get good tips. Lesson learned, Do not give bad service to other food...
Read moreAs you may have read in a previous review that I wrote, I love truck stops but I this is not a truck stop. I stopped here because I was not fully paying atention to my gas tank and got caught up in a story about my crazy forty something year old cousin who likes to spend all his money all the time and everything he owns fits in a duffel bag. It was a good story. So good that I almost ran out of gas. Fortunately I would've been fine because I always have a 5 gallon jug full in the back but we hit exit 35 right in time to make it to the Valero Gas station. It's pretty dark there at night. If you are getting off the road going east to west, turn left at the stop sign. So I gave it 5 stars because this is more than just a Valero Gas Station, it's a huge travel center. Granted I didn't see whether there was a place to drop blackwater or shower (my guess is no, but it was dark outside because the sun was down and my eyes are not as perceptive at night) but they had things you can't get at a normal gas station and even some stuff that you can't get at a normal truck stop! Some of the highlights of this stop were: Pickled eggs quail pickled eggs, 12 pack of mr. Pibb, every variety of Mountain Dew you can imagine, jelly belly bean tower dispenser, sliced meat amd sliced cheese, and 1 pound of Reeces Peanut Butter Cups (possibly a seasonal thing because there was a bow on the wrapper and it is December, but I'm not sure) and lots of Arkansas souveniers. Oh and a restaurant! If you need a full truck station then you probably need to go to Love's up the road (I was driving East to West so Loves was farther away and we were 99 percent out of gas). Also there is a stuffed bear and a man sitting in the front entrance of the store. My vision is good but it still tricked me. I got a good laugh and left with a full tank, pickled olives, peanut brittle, 1 pound of reeces peanut butter cups and a bag of jelly beans. I appreciate these luxurious privileges of the first world. Clearly I'm not on a diet. I hope you...
Read moreI would normally give this place 5 stars. It is my “must” stop when coming across I-40 in Arkansas. But... On this occasion I pulled my big rig in at 9:40pm. When I entered the store, I made a quick turn towards the restaurant. They have always had great food when I have been there. Especially welcoming and pleasing the few times I am stuck stopping late. Tonight, however, they had the walkway to the restaurant blocked by a sign with both the daily special and a warning of a 9pm closed time. No employees of the restaurant were in sight either. So, instead I grabbed a couple canned items to tide me over and checked out. It wasn’t till after the cashier took my cash that I found out the restaurant was open. Just the deli counter was closed. When I mentioned the sign blocking the way, the cashier just repeated that it was open and that this was “just what they do”. I spent 20 years managing restaurants before driving for the last 12 years. In all my years in restaurants, a sign with a closing time blocking a restaurant entrance is always a “sign” that the restaurant is closed. So, instead of spending close to $20 for a meal, I spent less than $10 on something to tide me over till I am 3 hours down the road in the morning. They lost $10 of my business tonight and at least $8 of it in the morning. No telling how much they lost from other drivers who walked in, saw the sign and walked out. I hope they rethink this sign policy. Yes, it is a small thing. But small things effect sales in big ways. First impressions are very important. If I didn’t already know how good the food is, I probably would not stop...
