Ol' Diamond Store — Local services in Pace

We just left here about 20 minutes ago. Let me start by saying wow! They completely exceeded my expectations. I came in expecting freezer to fryer, since that’s usually what is found out here, but I was wrong. During my wait I watched prep guys hand dip and batter the chicken, smash out fresh beef patties, and fry up more shrimp po’ boys than I could count. I also learned that most of the desserts are made early each morning in house, and even more were being made during the day. Everything was fresh and made to order.

From 11-2 expect a wait, especially if your order is fried, but it was so worth it. Our chicken was piping hot and crispy, and my wrap was huge(and griddled, an extra touch I really appreciated). I always say, look for all the work trucks at meal time, and you’ll know it’s a good spot. This place was PACKED today. They were so welcoming to my toddler and I, and everyone was polite. It was super clean as well. The owner was extra helpful when I picked out chicken feed and dog food, and loaded it into my truck when we left. I found the pricing to be extremely reasonable, even in these times when everything seems to be going up. They moved everyone through efficiently, without making you feel rushed.
