Where to start, The golf course itself was beautiful at one point but the people in charged killed that grass. Then again its hard to keep land looking great when the owner's will not spend money on the golf course to improve it,The machines are breaking, golf carts are breaking, everything there is breaking down.
Now on to the second part of this review, If your looking for a job and are thinking about working for this place I recommend you don't, not only will they lie to get you in there like they did to me, " $8.50 an hour and guaranteed 40 hours a week." Not only did I not get the 40 hours (average around 20 hours),the pay was $8.25. I tried talking to them about it they just kept saying "well i'll see what i can do" just as a cover up so they don't have to do anything. I did more work then what they were paying me for. Not just me tooting my own horn, Everyone else there that is doing maintenance is on an 8.50-9.15 pay rate, except me.
Anyways, the real problem of the place are the owners. like I said they don't care about the golf course their just there to have free golf. They put the golf course up for sale,so that's another bit of info for ya. They don't want the golf course anymore because it is in't making them enough money. If they cared just a little the place would half decent. that will never happen, rich people when they get bored they just...
Read more. I live on the golf course near the 17th green with what was a beautiful pond which we enjoyed as we sat on our patio. Since the county bought the course and hired a professional management company the course has steadly gotten worse. The previous owners kept the ponds free of weeds around the shores. Now the weeds have been allowed to grow so that it is difficult to even see the pond. The advertising on line talks about lush greens and fairways. That certainly is not the case. Unless you like hitting fairway shots off dirt and putting on greens that have bare and rutted areas you should avoid this golf course. I don't play this course anymore because of the continuing decline in playing conditions. Neighbors are now going to Mountain Falls golf course so they can hit off grass and putt on greens that actually have grass. If I were a player that read and saw the pictures in the ads online after sampling the conditions, I would demand a refund.
It is too bad the management company is not holding employees accountable. This course could be a...
Read moreI am basically a beginning golfer, although I caddied for 3 years and played a little as a teen 30 years ago, so I know a little more about golf than my skills would indicate. This is a flat, short executive course that won't challenge a sub-10 handicap golfer, but it's perfect for someone with less skills who is learning. And it's even better for kids, my 9 year old son LOVES this course. The only other open course in Pahrump, Mountain Falls, is far more challenging and a much "better" course, but my son would be wasting his time with their longer, harder holes. Me too, to be honest.
The price is also right, lately, in Spring 2009, they have been offering 2 player for 18 holes for $30. Carts are $10 for 18 holes. My only small complaint would be their rental clubs, the only time we rented them for my visiting brother one of the club heads flew off, and they were lousy.
The course is very walkable as well, even for a fat guy who is 30 years past his...
