The Painesville Speedway — Local services in Painesville

So the track is a neat place. Well kept food stands, bathroom, etc. They have a variety of divisions that run at the track. They have figure 8 racing. They also wet the track so that everyone is sliding around making it even more on the edge and exciting. The track is very small, with concrete corners and asphalt straights. The racing was decent. I have seen better other places. But with that said every race is different, so it could be an off night. The front wheel drive cars had a ridiculous time getting the feature started. Many cautions before getting a lap in. They restarted so much that they ran through the time allotted for the race. They got running finally and then the next flag ended the race regardless if all the laps were completed. It seems like the high line is nearly impossible to run except for about 2 or 3 cars tonight. That led to a lot of bumping and bringing out yellows. Don't get me wrong, rubbing is racing but the style that the one groove chrome horn passing wasn't as enjoyable to me. I do have to say the cheeseburger was awesome. One if the best burgers I've had at an event. They also had red flag specials. Half off beer during red flags. There were several. They also have a family section with no smoking or drinking. One neat thing was how close to the action you feel. Not really a bad seat in the house. Will go back...

Always a fun time coming here. Great way to support the local community and watch some good ol’ fashioned racing. Seating is plentiful although I would recommend bringing a cushion, or something, to sit on if bleacher seating is not your thing. They have a shed behind the stands that serves cold beer and another shed that serves food. There really isn’t a bad seat due to it being a small track. Race nights consist of various different races including the popular Iron Man series and Figure 8 among others. Destruction at the Battleground nights are always a blast because it is guaranteed carnage. Great for the whole family or just a night...

We finally made it here after hearing such great things about it. It's an entertaining night for sure. Perhaps a bit long to sit on wooden bleachers but you can move around easily enough or bring one of those seat adapters. Be sure to stay to the end as the races get more fun as they go, especially when they wet the course down. The new scoreboard was well with it too, I can't imagine not having it! The food is okay but that's not why...
