My local company had a team member bonding night at Amazing Glaze. We like to support local businesses when we do our monthly bonding night. We decided to try out Amazing Glaze. Our experience painting the pottery was just OK. There was barely any thing to choose from. It may look like a lot of things on the shelves but really there it’s just a bunch of already completed work or duplicates. Now let’s get to the painting part. They were out of ALOT of colors. When asked if there was more paint in the back or anything, we were told no they are out of it. The employee barely said anything to us or checked if we were ok. So limited projects, limited customer service and now limited paint.
Now this is the part that made me neverrrr want to step foot back in this establishment. We waited a week and went to pick up our pottery. We were met with the owner when we walked in. He asked what projects we did. Upon telling him he looked around and asked over and over again what projects we completed. I continued to tell him and he realized they were in the kiln. He takes the first project out and hands them to us. Then he takes my specific project out and goes, “YOU TOOK THIS FROM ME AND MY FIANCÉ!” taken aback I said,” it was on the shelf???” He said, “no one told you not to do it and that it was saved for us?” The answer was NO and the funny part is, it has a price still on the bottom of it as we speak! So instead of taking it on the chin and asking his employee why she let me paint the project, he rudely scolded a customer that’s company spent hundreds of dollars??? Yeah no, I’ll never step foot in there again. We will continue to go to Fired Up in downtown Melbourne! Fired up is clean for an art studio, the staff is amazing, and they don’t treat their customers like this! Oh and they have a HUGE selection of projects AND paint! Do better...
Read moreMy co-workers and I tried this place, not knowing what to expect. We walked in and the owner was very courteous. He welcomed us and instructed us on how to get started. We picked our ceramic pieces and the owner checked on us regularly to make sure we were all taken care of. He even gave us some pro tips so that we can get the most out of our painting experience. I was able to finish painting my mug in one day, but I was surprised to learn that if someone does not finish, they are more than welcome to take their piece (ceramic sculpture, plate, cup, etc.) back to their house to finish. Or, a customer may come back to the studio as often as it takes to continue painting their piece, at no extra charge, so that it will look its best before you give it to one of the workers to have it glazed and baked. It was definitely a fun experience and I definitely recommend this place! Loved it!
P.S.: I can't wait to see how my mug looks once...
Read moreWent today and the owner was very very sweet. I had made a reservation one day in advance and he happily accommodated 8 people. When we all arrived he explained everything and each person picked out their piece. Everything was priced well, my piece was $28 bucks — the bowl (includes the piece, paint, firing, and glaze). If the price is a drawback, we spent 3 hours there painting and chatting, which was totally worth it. It's a far drive for me, but I'll be going back again because of how friendly and polite the owner is. As we were leaving he offered to take a group photo and also came over to chat with us and take a look at our pieces. It takes a week for the piece to be ready and he'll hold onto it for 2 months.
Again, a really awesome experience and there's a wide selection for a wide...
