Very nice selection of Indian wares. Jewelry, pottery, baskets, art, knives, books, t-shirts, rocks, rugs, hats, etc. A great selection of books about Indians!!

It's a small store with a small selection of each type of product, but nice. Prices were very reasonable. Not like museum prices at all.

Air-conditioned building!!!

They sell a few snack items and water.

The clerk was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the Cahuilla tribe and of course about the hikes. She even patiently taught us how to pronounce words like Cahuilla and Tahquitz.

They had a Ranger seated outside offering Visitor Information too. Not sure how many days of the week they offer this. We visited on a Saturday in August.

We arrived at 8 am when the park opened. Luckily it was a cooler day than usual for summer. Go early. Take lots of water.

Porta potties are available for men, women, and disabled people.

The Trading Post is at the very end...

The only worker when we visited, Laine, was incredibly rude. When we first arrived to Indian Canyons I specifically asked at the ticket booth if there was a visitors center. They said yes- just follow the road to the end. I even asked if it’s a good place to start at before we start exploring the park and she said ‘yes’. So of course when we reach the Trading Post I ask if this is the visitors center to which Laine said (in a very condescending and loud voice) that there isn’t one here and there never was one here. Not only that but she wouldn’t let it go and seemed to just get louder about it. Wow do I regret visiting all together.

The Trading Post itself is okay. I bought a couple of icee popsicles here after our hike. It was affordable- I think only $1 or so per popsicle. The other things in the shop were mostly knickknacks, souvenirs, jewelry, books, and some handmade art and...

Indian Canyon is a place of wonder and discovery. It is a great starting point for those who seek to explore the natural beauty of the desert. The canyon boasts a plethora of hiking trails, ranging from easy to hard, that will take you through the stunning landscape of the desert. The scenery is breathtaking, with striking desert vistas mixed in with fan palm trees growing along streams n the canyons bottoms. The rangers we spoke with were incredibly knowledgeable and provided us with valuable insights into the history and ecology of the area. We were amazed by one we spoke with talking about using classic tracking techniques to find...
