Itās taken me a while to work up the best way to write this review. As a small business owner myself, I take any kind of review of a business very seriously. I had a hair cut here almost two summers ago in July of 2021. Since this hair salon was highly marketed as the best for curly hair I was very hopeful in the experience that I would have here. The gal that cut my hair, I canāt remember her name, was younger and was nice and professional to talk to. I showed her a picture of a haircut that I had previously and said that this was my least favorite way that my hair was styled. I wanted to do something different and fun but only have maybe an inch or two taken off my hair. The haircut lasted a couple hours, I also got highlights and a demo of how to care for my hair properly using the products they recommended.
The haircut that I received from here was the exact haircut that I said I didnāt want. Several inches were taken off my hair instead of just a trim. After a few days the highlights completely washed out of my hair and I couldnāt see them anymore.
While they are very professional and knowledgeable on their products and information, I received the style of hair that I hated the most on myself.
If you do go here I would be very clear on what you do what your hair to look like instead of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās been about 2 years since I got my hair cut here. I paid for the Deva cut. I was naive and uneducated, as I was just starting my curly journey. Now that Iāve been in several CGM groups and have become more educated, I canāt stop thinking about my experience here. I cannot remember who cut and styled my hair, but she had just wavy hair herself and she was blonde.
1st) I was just learning about protein vs moisture. I inquired about it and the stylist laughed at me saying āthe only way we can get protein in our hair is by EATING food with proteinā - wrong. 2nd) I had hair longer than my shoulders. She took about 10-15 minutes and did a dry cut, telling me I didnāt have curly hair - wrong. 3rd) Washed my hair, but besides putting Innersense gel in it, did no further styling techniques (scrunching, brushing, finger curling, etc) - wrong 4th) Put me under a salon hair dryer type device for +30 minutes - wrong 5th) sold me a bunch of Innersense products, which were totally wrong for my hairs density, porosity, etc. - wrong (I did come back to return them).
I felt like overall, my experience was awful. I paid a lot of money for something I could do WAY better at home. I hope other curly newbies donāt fall victim like I did. Find another...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen getting my haircut here for well over a year now and Emily cuts my hair. Nice family run salon with a very comfortable atmosphere. For a guy I'm kind of fussy about my hair and don't mind spending a few extra bucks to get it done to my liking. My hair is coarse, thick and grows fast. Make no mistake at 62 years old I'm not complaining. Within 5-10 minutes of sitting down with Emily the 1st time I could tell she was very confident with her shears as my hair was kind of long at the time since my last cut in California where we moved from. She dialed the cut/style right into my hopes and expectations (respectable looking, properly layered and not just a shave cut) and I will continue getting my hair cut there as I have had no reason to shop around. She is very reliable in keeping her appointments as I always make my next app. at the finish of my last cut, usually about 2 months apart. Highly recommend this place if you want your hair done right by the same person every time.
