Our Tesla Solar Panels predated us as we bought this house with the panels installed and the lease totally paid for. We were grandfathered in to Tesla. There is extensive savings in out electric utility bill, because of the solar generated. The problem began when we needed a completely new roof. Obviously the panels needed to be removed for this to happen. There was also a $499 service fee to do this. Even that was a fairly good deal, considering that the roofers must be specially qualified to do this work and those that are ethical are in scare supply. When one who is ethical is found, they charge per panel, not a flat fee. This makes removal and reinstallation almost as costly as the roof itself. There is extensive paperwork involved in doing all this and I choose to tackle this ordeal by using paper, so I'd have hard records. Ordeal? YES Indeed. So much so that I despaired of having the panels at all. I ran into smarty mouthed service personnel and others that were so incompetent that I wondered how they could ever even hold down their jobs.
There is NO polite way to say this. Tesla's Customer Service is a Complete Failure.
It took SEVEN weeks from the time that I got started to the actual work crew to arrive, to get ANY any action on my job. They simply do not know how to do their jobs, but are quite good with delay tactics and especially equipped with skilled Smart Mouthed Responders in the call centers The roofing project took less than a day. Then I had to wait for the work crew to come back out and reinstall the panels. These gentlemen who worked in 90 degree heat (which would have been unnecessary if the claim had been handled in a timely fashion) were quite polite and explained what they were doing and made some repairs as well as ordering a new panel. Which has not arrived yet. Weeks later now.
If you are considering Solar Panels for your roof, I DO NOT recommend Tesla. If I could downgrade this rating to zero, I would. I suggest that you have a detailed discussion about reroofing at the point of sale with the sales rep, or call some rep at the company who can discuss how difficult this simple process can become. Every roof will need to be replaced eventually. Tesla is looking for sales. They DO NOT CARE about their existing or grandfathered in customers. Every sale will become a...
Read moreTesla - has gone down in their customer service. I would never recommend anyone buying a Tesla. They are worse than the airlines when they cancel your flight for no reason. I would say the DMV is run better than what they have to offer.
Our car was taken to the service center 1/3/22 and we approved the estimate on 1/4/22. On 1/9/22 - we requested an update on the repairs; the service team told us we needed to approve our estimate - which we explained we had on 1/4/22. 2hrs later they message us back saying there was a "glitch" in the system. Really? I though Tesla was supposed to be high tech? Maybe it was someone not doing their job thoroughly? After they did a rough patch job we don't even have our car for 10 days and the same error came up. They said it's new damage and provided an estimate for the same work but double the price at $2,000 (parts $31). I talked to Christopher Del Valle who - Carlsbad Service Manager who said I either had to pay or not. After talking with Kolby R. at the supposed "Executive Care" which really means they don't care for about a week; there is nothing she can do. And apparently she runs Tesla and is the final voice there is no manager above her and she's in charge.
Well come to find out a week later the same Service Manager who didn't even take the time to review our quote originally told us "accidently" wrote the quote wrong and double charged us and is was another computer "glitch". We also realized the first time we paid they double charged us on the General Diagnostic Fee. Should I be worried that Tesla is not that technology advanced with all these "glitches"?
We are still fighting them to fix the problem we originally paid for. So if you feel like you need a challenge or want more stress in your life; buy a Tesla and get nonexistent...
Read moreGreetings, I love cars and I love Tesla cars but that company has such horrible service that I rather buy a horse and buggy. I am having a big issue with Tesla Solar panels. For 5 months I have been getting the run around. I asked them to come remove the panels but they refuse, claim I signed a contract. I did sign a contract but they cant deliver what the committed so why do I have to pay? I called the bank to see if I can stop paying the loan but they are of no help. Here is the issue that I am having, I suspect many more of you may be having this issue and you simply dont know it. My panels were installed in Feb, activated in early March. From day one the system did not work as committed in the contract. I was the one to find the issue Tesla's engineers were happy to walk away not even knowing there is a problem. The system does not produce the energy its suppose to produce. I have been calling Tesla weekly but always get the same story and the same run around. I am paying money for a product that does not work. I have no way of halting payments or making them come fix the problem. They just promise me every week to get a call from a "supervisor" and I never hear from a sole. I have never encountered such poor customer care and such unprofessional work ethics. I am sure I am not the only customer experiencing this problem, if they did not even know I have an issue how many houses are out there with bad panels that they never detected? I am sure there are many more who have issues but simply dont know it. I will be more than happy to share more info with anyone. I am going to post of FB, Google, Yahoo, local news outlets, complain to BBB and do all I can to either have my problem resolved or have the damn panels...
