Found this gem by total accident. There are 14 camping peninsulas with fire pits that include a flip-over cooking grate, a boat ramp, and decent restrooms.
The camping sites are really great. We didn't have fishing gear with us, but the fish were extremely active and jumping all night long. Will definitely be going back to try the fishing.
It's a great spot overall, but I will say not completely quiet and peaceful. Trains go by several times a night very close by and are not quiet. Also, on a Saturday night vehicles were regularly coming and going. The road that goes around the lake to each campsite does not connect back. Since there is no outlet, vehicles will drive all the way around and all the way back if they don't find a spot. There were at least half a dozen late arrivals after dark on a September Saturday night. It was a pretty quiet peaceful morning the next day (besides an occasional train of course.)
It's free, first come first serve, and a decent lake, so the pros outweigh the cons for me. Will be going back to try...
